I don't mind the wheels TBH. It's one of the better style of wheels in Australia put it that way - Most people are well into this sort of thing, and I really don't like that style at all: But hey, they came with the car and they look better than the 15" steels it was originally fitted with as standard. These wheels do need to go at some point though, I would prefer to get a wheel that I do actually like and sell these some some poor schmuck on ebay - they are really bad a balancing up as they are a bit bent - 2 wheels had about 200grms of stick on weights to balance it up, which is way out... (I work as a tyre fitter at Beaurepaires here in oz). Cheers for the the vote of coolness and yes it is rather quick!

cool car. Even with the from lip the bumper sits so far from the ground!! our wagon is dropped 4" or so, on 18" and still far too much clearance!!

I can assure you it is a police car - it has a tag on the top of the speedo (I spotted it when I took it out to change the dash bulbs) from 1996 saying "police" etc. The speedo has a different needle than the rest as you can see from the photo below, and also if you can spot it - there's a little hole at the top just above the speedo unit - this is a police spec dash and that hole has a bulb above it that provides light onto the speedo unit so that the needle can be seen with no lights on. The other needles light up from the back light bulbs but the speedo needle doesn't for this reason. But I see what you mean about the 200kph thing! I guess the speedo goes off the scale as I'm sure that this car goes faster than 200! Anyway, I couldn't come to australia and not own a V8, that's one reason why I have one of these. The other reason is the fact that I have owned Vauxhall Carltons and Senators for a while now and this just seemed like a natural progression!

The interior of the Commodore right since the VN has always been so goddamn horrible. Good the the v8 makes up for that in fun.

More sun than us. More open roads than us. More J-tin than us. More V8s than us. Cheaper petrol than us. ...ummm... why am I still here again? ;D Awesome car. I'd love to see that on some banded black steels and those nudge bars on the front (Do Aussie coppers have those? I've seen them on US cop cars) Like a Senator, but with big hairy b0llocks.

The bull bars are a craze over here and I like most of them but some people go WAY overboard. Not a big fan of these really. I like a nice bull bar but those 5 posters just look curse word IMO. I did actually want a Commodore Ute but the Utes go for double the money over here and I stretched the budjet to get this one... I would hav also preferred a manual but the missus can only drive autos at the mo so I had to sacrifice

250bhp isn't gonna cut it though (please try to ignore the current trend of over sized chrome wheels) About 1000bhp should do it;

It just cost me $31.50 to get a pink slip the other day from K-Mart Auto next door to our place (they look after us ) so I can get a rego soon. PS - $31.50 is about £15. The best thing about driving in aus is the fact that you don't have to get personal insurance to be legal to drive a car - ANYONE with a valid licence can drive anything legally! The insurance goes with the car all the time, and that's the green slip. It'll cost me about $350 for a green slip which provides the compulsary 3rd party insurance (personal injury only) for whoever drives the vehicle.

And yeah I've seen a few of those stupid HP beasts, they're a bit silly in my eyes, most get the huge 1500HP+ from huge great turbos that only come on boost at 5Krpm!
I like the supercharged ones but the kits for those are silly expensive!
I'm not going to be spending lots of money on my car here and I don't want that much HP - I live in Sydney metro so I never get the chance to go faster than 80kph (50mph) anyway! If I wanted to modify a car it would have to be a top model like a clubsport or an SS or something - this is just a VS executive but it just happens to be a BT1 police pack version - it's not that special!
