That was a long day! No pics to show, but my wheel cyl kit arrived this morning, so thats the brake overhall sorted. The old seals don't leak, but experience says they will, soon as I start to use them, so change them now. I also picked up the propshaft (£40 to allign, weld and balance) so thats now ready to fit. Commercial Propshaft Services on the Team Valley in Gateshead. Next day service, cheap and good at their job. Then, I finished the chassis off ;D Ready to degrease (again) and paint tomorrow. Reason for all the cleaning? Its down to the reason the chassis was so well preserved. Its full of grease. Literally! Runs out every time I weld or grind near it, thats why its such slow going at the moment. But hey, without the grease, the chassis wouldnt have been here so I'm not complaining.

Props to the man with the skilZors.
No wonder its survived, if its full of grease. It does give me a anti-oxide idea for mine though..
Oh, and Mr Scary, this is the first car Ive seen born, and I feel both humbled and privileged, as I think we all should.

nice work with the carb setup, are you planning on adding a balance pipe if they work?

I've missed something, what carbs are they? Heres a (cryptic) clue then. Initially has odd noise, defies adjustment. Yes, there prob will be a balance pipe (and a takeoff for the dist. vacuum) once I've finished.

Actually, I just had another look at the carbs, there is a balance pipe running between them. that's handy! Still need a vacuum takeoff, but thats just a hole, lol.

Last degrease (with traffic film remover) and a quick jetwashing first then finally, Paint! Celly paint is still available over the counter. They just call it "brush on paint" instead, lol

Looking good. A coat of paint makes all the difference. brush on paint, that's good to know.

Finished painting the chassis Then attacked the spare wheel rim. clean all of this off . luckily, it was rather flaky and didnt last long against the knotbrush. couple of coats of this.. and its like new again. perfect fit. just needs welding on!
