Well after 9 years of ownership and neglect Maurice finally hit the road today. When I first got him I was full of enthusiasm, ripped the wings off, then the inner wings (!) doors, brakes etc. Started to weld various bits, renewed all the brakes but then got totally fed up dragging it back and forth from the garage until finally he sat all forlorn for many a year. A couple of year ago a "restorer" took him under his wing and said "I`ll get this all sorted" Well he sort of sorted it but didn`t finish the job to even a decent standard. Enter the Scareyoldcortina who came to the rescue. Did some welding, sorted the brakes and with a wave of the magic stick (that makes engines disappear) Hey Presto ! Maurice lives and breathes with a fresh MOT. Had a laugh in the Post Office when the ol dear asked if I wanted the tax for 6 months or 12 LOL ! Well Maurice visited the seaside today along with other old types cars and had a jolly good time. Pre Scareyoldcortina  At the seaside with friends    |

Labour of love eh? I love the 948cc looks but I'm not sure about the no indicator/sidelight thing at the front. Love the 'sunvisor' though!  |

Love it! Its got that "I know its modified but I can't quite put my finger on whats stock and what not" feel to it.
The wellers are a class choice and beat (bloody) minilite any day of the week ;D

I like it - very subtle as robinxr4i said
the all-red rear lights are top too - do the trafficators work or do you have the red indicator/brake light version? They are great for confusing other road users - especially on a slammed car - idiots in 4x4 off roaders get all flustered!

The question is - what do I do next ? I have this idea of turning it into a psuedo racer with big numbers and loads of black/white chequered tape and stickers but keeping it stock running gear. I`m not bothered about getting it to go fast (I`m getting too old etc) but just looking the part.
What do you lot think ?
