Well I've finally entered classic ownership.....in the shape of this: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=130216377382Think its gunna be a joint project between me and my dad who's wanted another one ever since he had one as his first car. Plans for it.......well erm.....I bought it cos it seemed cheap so plan haven't really be formulated....I haven't even seen the car in the flesh.....but I think it'll be a case of a tidy up.... which no doubt looking at the photo's will turn into an epic weldathon.....maybe a tad lower and then just routine care and maintenance, but we'll see haha. Anyway quite excited!! ;D ;D More pics and info when I collect it!!

Excellent!!!! That certainly seems a pretty good price for an MOT'd moggy. They can look sooo cool with very simple mods Lowering the front is free too

Welll thats the Minor. Believe it or not its MOT'd till October and Taxed till next year!!
Its a joint project between me and my dad....its gunna get all the welding done pretty soonish (any reccomendations for cheap but good welders in the NE??) gunna turn it into a tidyish but not mint everyday classic for me and dad to tootle around on the weekends in. Gunna be resprayed in the same colour next year.
Mods wise.... well its the trying to negotiate with my dad bit thats hard but I want matt black wheels with uber shiny hubcaps and slightly lowered.... He wants stock *yawn*. But before any of that starts we have to get in welded and waxoyled!!
Peace Out!!

Hmmm, short sighted MOT tester perhaps but I reckon it could've been worse. Show yer dad this picture. Simple and cool!

nice choice I got one of them - in fact its in this months minor monthly! I get all my bits from here: www.morrisminorspares.co.uk/stick action is easy peasy as has been said. I used uprated torsion bars at the front and lowering blocks at the back. Don't worry about those rusty bits they are all pretty fixable and the panels are available. Rupert

Scallops!!!! At that price, you can afford to throw a few quid at it, that's dirt cheap for an MOT'd Moggy as Seth says....and as a starter classic they are just about unbeatable. Great parts availability, cracking club support and with sympathetic maintainence and driving they will go forever. I bet when you get behind the wheel you won't be able to get the grin off your face.

It is absolutely brilliant to drive......Huge thin steering whell. Feels as if I'm sitting low down. Tiny little gear knob......Big central speedo all the flicky switches that make stuff work it is simply brilliant!!
We bought it because it was cheap and we had drive space. Plus dad has wanted another one since he sold his travller 30 years ago haha.

May I suggest Scareyoldcortina for the welding jobs. He`s just sorted my Moggy out and got it fettled for the MOT. Good job and reasonable prices. Depending on how much decorating I get done on Sat I`ll be there in Maurice on Sunday.

Yeah think I'm gunna trundle along to scaryldcortina's as he's really close and reccomended.
I've been out for a drive in it this evening after topping up with fuel and additive. Running much better with some better fuel in it and I had a great time trundling along some lanes around here.
I absolutely love driving it gives me such a great feeling. Just drive around grinning. Can't wait until its all solid!!

Good choice qwerty! This is exactly how I got into this minor thing. The rust behind the door flitches doesn't look too funny though Keep it cheap, simple and fairly standard to start with, then lower it with blocks on the rear axle and drop it on the torsion bars at the front. If you fit an anti roll bar at the same time it will make a dramatic difference to the handling and you won't get blown out of your lane when overtaking lorries! Disc brakes make an enormous difference over standard as will freeing up the breathing on the engine. You won't be the quickest but you'll certainly be the smileyiest Here's my '66 2 door pre-op

Glad to see you've finally got your Minor Qwerty. I'll warn you, they're addictive. What you wanna do now is get it solid, and drop the front end. Just run it around like that for a while, until you decide which way you want to mod it. Even with a stock 1098 like yours they're good fun, and a lot livelier than most people think.
