That Optimus Primus had fearsome vicious flames. I remember now, The Spiritus was from you. I wonder if it's actually Meths? Over here Meths has to have the purple colour added, an emetic to make you sick and a bad smell to stop people drinking it and going blind.
Apparently it's the coloured stuff that turns the bottom of pots black - the clear stuff that's illegal here doesn't. If you add 10% water to the meths it makes far less soot but will be a bit harder to get going.
Incidentally, if you remember my Swedish Army Trangia - well they are going for about £5 from this place
