well here is the new "daily". a 1980 toyota corona liftback. bought it a week ago and have already stripped all the interior out due to it being trashed/stinky. this shot the tails are off, and the body loom is hanging out the boot. front floor section = rear section = sorry for no interior "before" shots. I couldnt find my camera and couldnt be slowed down as I am on time restraints. theres more shots to come as the interior is almost back together, but now in black&white, as opposed to the old brown&dirt. plans are slam the hell out of it, paint it white or super light metallic purple. and some 15X8 wheels all the way around.

Damn cool! Ice white inside for the win!!!! Slam it, light metallic purple would be my choice of the two and I'm waiting to see those wheels!

Ah. At least the retro's down there will be relatively rust-free! Up here in CT, it's road-salt heaven.

yeah this car is pretty rust absent. minus the lower edge of the left front fender.
oh and the car has the 20R 4 cylinder, rear wheel drive 3 speed automatic. needs some work but it runs!

UPDATE well well well. lots of work has been going on with the corona. the original carb was making the motor run like cack. figured out it was the carb when fuel came dripping out of numerous vaccuum lines. and the factory carb has about 20! so called weber east coast dist. and had them send me this... 32/36 DGEV carb kit for the 20r. i eliminated a million wires and tubes from the bay, got rid of the water choke system, and the EGR, and the "air pump" injection system. who needs all that emmission curse word on a 1980 4 banger! also ditched the p/s, a/c, and heater core. this thing seriously shed some pounds once getting into my hands. heres a shot of interior 'waste' that has been removed, and throw out! also, fitted my cressidas original wheels. bless old J rides for all using 4x114.3! wheels looked great size and offset wise, but the car looked a little.... jacked up? angle grinder x all 4 corners resulted in quite the drop. the jack barely makes it under now. i would go lower but this is the daily. for now.... at this point it looked like this.. some might love the color. but me, my wife, my friends, and everyone i meet hates it! so i went the cheap and easy route and rattle canned it. but not just flat black.... SATIN black! and not just single color boringness. two tone with primer grey upper half. check it out! and this is the most recent interior shot, with the dash and trim panels painted black, and the seats shod in purple velvet! up next is recovering door panels, adding a silver vinyl stripe down the side to break the colors, and maybe refinishing the wheels with shiny silver paint! oh and it drives excellent now with the carb, and de-junkified motor. sorry no engine pics..
