Had to cut away a bit of the floor today, but only as far back as the frame. The original handbrake levers and mechanism were in the way too, so they´re gone., and i´ve taken out the brakepipes as i will have to reroute them because it looks like it´s going to be a tight fit with the exhaust manifolds.....(and i don´t fancy boiled brakefluid) With a bit of luck the V6 won´t be sat on the floor for much longer... thanks for looking in, more tomorrow! ;D

I know, Dave! Stick the radiator out in front of the bumper. I know this will work because the Garunchin/Bozo guys tell everybody that no damage can possibly occur to a "leading edge" heat exchanger. Ohhhh...... Forgot....... they don't connect theirs to the engine. ;D
Seriously, can't mount them in the rear Zaky style? The boyz at Neiderzissen used big Citroen cores.
Is this German regs on the external appearance?

Will the radiator go under the floor horizontally?
I've seen a VW Bus with a rover V8 In the back which ran this set up.

I´m not 100% convinced it´ll go in yet.
The engine will fit the hole but i´m still not too sure whether i´ll be able to get the front axle back in yet. I can´t raise the engine too high as i wouldn´t be able to sit in the cab!!!
If it does go and i can get the axle back in i´ll be trying to fit a radiator directly in front of the engine. I´ll have to get a high performance 4 core one specially made (cheers Dom) and as this is close to the original set up, i´ll try it too, so won´t be putting any on the side, or front, or roof or anywhere else for that matter (sorry Norm!)
Once modified a Baywindow with a GTI engine and we hid the radiator in what looked like the spare wheel cover on the front, was invisible but not an option here.
I´ll sort something out if i get that far!!! ;D

The tank was a bit rusty from the inside so threw in a couple of handfulls of nuts and bolts and gave it 50rpm all afternoon! This is a my Splittie tank but the Ford was the same, just didn´t have any photos of it) What a crackingly good idea... why don't I have ideas like that, I spent a whole day shaking a tank by hand, I was shattered !

If the axle doesn't fit you could always cut it in half, pivot as near to the centre as possible and use it/them as swing axles

If the axle doesn't fit you could always cut it in half, pivot as near to the centre as possible and use it/them as swing axles As we´re planning a new axle (with discs) for the winter i won´t be doing too much modification to the old one. With a bit of luck it´ll go straight back in, the sump is the right shape and my rough measurements say it will go......we´ll see tomorrow. As Grizz say´s it will go back in, it´s just a question of how long it it´s going to take ;D

Looks like i´m having a bit of luck at the moment. Axles´in... even when the front has settled once been loaded there should be 20mm clearance between the axle and the sump... even the exhaust clears everything.... Now i can get my "to do " list together... make two engine and one gearbox mounts build new rear axle with longer ratios and flange for Scorpio propshaft have propshaft built renew accelerator cable mechanism find room and fit airbox etc redo handbrake mechanism build exhaust sort out radiator & gearbox oilcooler rebuild engine cowl cut vents in wheelarch/cab floor get my mate Mike round for a weekend of electrics.... convert van to 12v make new seat brackets for the Scorpio leather front seats and everything else i´ve forgotten off the top of my head. Still it´s 4 1/2 months till Classic Ford at the Pod, with a bit more luck it should be all doable!
