Only just had chance to catch up with this thread... you never stop working! Excellent parts swapping with the brakes, looks like a good set-up. I don't know anything about remote servos but its something I have to tackle myself on my project, so i'll be watching and learning! And if I find any useful info on the subject myself i'll let you know

The hearse has been back on the road for a month and a bit with its new heart, still can't get 4th gear or the kickdown to work, probably something I've done in the wiring But he's still well pleased with it, it starts every time on the button, makes a lurvly noise too I've replaced remote servos at work on MGBs but don't know much about them, 1 pipe in, 1 pipe out to the cylinder on the front of them. Popuptoaster - cheers for the pictures, they confirmed our suspicion that we'd left the kickdown switch in the Transit when we weighed it in

nice job, I really must get onto doing mine, it stops fine from high speed, but only once. I´m jealous, mine doesn´t manage it once mate!!! I need to get a few bits and bobs sorted this weekend as i won´t have much time during the week and we have to leave Thursday lunchtime to get to Gaydon on time. I´d noticed i´d been losing some coolant on the last trip but couldn´t find the fault anywhere. I´d more or less given up and just accepted that i´d need to keep an eye on the water level until i found this this morning. The expansiontank water level sensor thingy has a split in it, no probs i thought and went round behind the shed to the spare Scorpio....but it was just as bad. Fortunately i´d kept the expansion tank from the 2.8 Scorpio that i scrapped last year and although the electical connections don´t match at least the leak is sorted! ;D Then i fooleshly decided to redo all the exhaust.... bloody stupid idea,,,,,,,,,,,, more tomorrow!

Well to cut a long and boring story short i finally got the exhaust sorted today. The old version was ok but it didn´t sound good and half of it fell off on the way back from Lobbach. It was basically two seperate sytems, one each side and my mates reckoned it wasn´t sounding too good because they didn´t meet up in the middle. So i binned all the old stuff and out of some MKII Golf bits, Scorpio and Capri bits knocked up a system that now joins up in the middle (sounds a lot better now) and exits out towards the rear instead of coming out of both sides and burning the paint off both the sills... It´s basically just a mock up, (with a road test to Gaydon next weekend) and if i´m happy with it i´ll get a professional to build me a proper one. Thanks to my sons Christian for holding the camera and Alex for sorting out the vid...... ...still doesn´t sound too shoddy eh? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Gaydon here we come........

I´ve been tidying it up a bit and getting it ready for the trip over tomorrow. I´ve still got a small oil leak, the tankgauge is on permanent full and this ´ll be the last trip on drum brakes but we´ll get there. All my insulation work in the cab is slowly starting to pay off, the passenger side is still a bit warm so whipped this heatshield off the Scorpio and fitted it underneath the passenger seat, will have to see if it makes any difference. Will be giving it a once over tomorrow, change the oils and then we´re off.... .....see you at Gaydon hopefully! ;D
