Stick with the I-4 if you can - the RS2000 was the only mk5 to have one but in its 16v guise. They're not common, and Ford also have an annoying habit of making spares obsolete when a model's still in production... but eBay might just work!
I quite like it by the way, although not keen on the bonnet - prefer the mk5a one!

Speedle thanks mate @ terra root I'm a engineer\welder by trade and work as a engineering supervisior for a firm that makes food processing equipment so the exhaust fabrication is the least of my problems the cradle is the two gearbox mounts and the engine mount and no cant have equal lenght drive shafts not without widening the front of the car which has already been suggested @mister a I'm trying to ! mk5a bonnets are hard to find all the escorts seem to have been scrapped for 1 reason .....rust !

Lets clear up car terms: "Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence. "Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

Shame the Twink isn't gunna go in. It kinda made the project. If your gunna put a CVH in is it not worth putting a Zetec in?
