okay so I bored of passat,.... find golf, get golf, its an 89 16v gtiiiiiii, mint rainbow interior, 88k on clock, off road for 6 years, new top end rebuild.... for a very fair price I has 80mm drop suspension.... I'm thinking golf cl front end.... removing all trim, small bumpers, white 14" p sluts or 15" white winter wheels on 165/50s.... rebadging as cl too.... I miss my old cl loads and fancy having a wolf in sheeps clothing,... will it work?

Do big bumper golfs have a valance underneath? Small bumpers, single lights and no skirts or side trim would look good. If you are going to "CL" it then go the whole hog.

Haha cool, I like the CL idea. You gotta get those steelies with the poverty-spec "button" hub-caps too! ;D My old Golf was a 1.3 CL

If memory serves, the main bumper bolts hold the subframe which to engine is mounted to in place so you need to support it before pulling the bolts. 99.9% certain that you'll find a standard Golf front Valence behind the big bumper. Nice car by the way.

yeh it will work like - check this funk machine out! when you takethe front bumper off just stick a jack under the engine to take the weight and unbolt it normally - replace the bumper - let the engine down.
