i'm hoping this is the sort of place I can come and discuss the olders cars in a nice abuse free environment without the ""its a micra" rubbish as I know its a micra I don't need to be reminded lol
Anyway, I picked myself up a 1989 Micra k10 about 3 months ago as a project car as i've always loved the k10 not only for its retro boxiness buts its mechanical genius thanks to the uber clever japs
when I picked the car up it looked like this;
the suspension was shot, the rear engine mount had broken off completely and the engine had over 103k on it and a nasty 4 speed :S
still for £300 it was worth it to me for the uber rare nissan fitted bodykit and the car itself was solid as a rock underneath.
so after driving it back 80miles which was an experience in itself :S lol I got work on making it last the test of time and it now looks like this...
and the engine which i'll explain in a second
So so far i''ve
replaced the engine witha 30k 1.0l lump
new 5 speed box
new shocks and 35mm lowering springs
fitted honda cbr600f bike carbs
face lifted the car to the new style front end
mopped the car
had the bodykit repaired and repainted
the main aim with this car is to get it running some good power and currently its 69bhp at the wheels standard it runs 55bhp at the fly and it boast 117bhp per tonne IIRC and thats just from the bike carbs and inlet, ive got a nissan motorsport 4-2-1 to fit next and then a more aggressive cam which should see it up to around 90bhp@ the wheels which isnt bad for a 1.0 n/a car
