After this thread being brought back to my attention I thought I'd do a little readers rides thread. Here is my chav wagon Basically owning this Saxo is like owning a British car from the 70's. Stuff falls off all the time the build quality is terrible and loads of money has to be thrown at it, and it needs loads of welding. So I've had to have loads of money spent on it. Which has pushed me into negative equity. Its had the suspension replaced and raised because the low suspension was eating driveshafts. A Driveshaft because of above Droplinks All new pads and discs New balljoint two front tyres New downpipe Powersteering fixed And the OSR inner wheel arch patched and seam welded!! So if you want the Retro car experience in a well handling tepid hatch buy a Saxo today

Best thing is like old cars are held together with imperial fittings this dam thing is held together with Torq Screws!!
Plus its had "a hard life" so i constantly discover bodges which I can "tinker" with and fix!! It really is a dream to own
(Can you sense the sarcasm!!!)

Get rid of it then! Someone with their jeans not pulled up properly and a spotty forehead will be mad for that.

But when I jump in it and hammer down some fantastic roads (and we have plenty of them round here) it puts a huge grin on my face ;D
However I've wacked it up for sale on the Saxo forum to see what interest I get ;D
Renault 11/Saab 99 here I come!!

Looks pretty good for a Paxo.
Have a feeling these might well become like Nova's in 10 years, rare as poor quality wobbly children's play pony poop as they've all been chavved and/or crashed so a good one will be quite collectable as a budget track car.

Driving this thing when the PAS was broke gave me arms like popeye!!
Can't afford to insure a VTS the insurance on them is ridiculous
These will definitely be the Nova/205 gti in a few years time (gotta remember early saxo's are now 11 years old!!)

i've driven an "S" and it really was a capable machine- it was bog standard too. my mate had it about three years and it really was quite reliable for a french car! I've been in an "R" but never driven one. I don't particularly like them if I'm honest, but I've always liked the peugeot 106- suppose that makes me a brand slag

Loads of Saxos round my way. Sadly they all seem to be driven by unemployed, cap wearing morons. Nice little car all the same though not my cup of tea. My son has an AX we are doing up. He fancies a Saxo. he ain't getting one though!

Ive seen far worse lol! Reminds me of the car I just sold to get the Volvo. My 306 Dturbo Was a nice car but time started taking it's toll on it I think. Defo excelled in the handling department though! Also sticking £10 diesel in it lasted a lifetime even flooring it everywhere lol! Can't even dream of that in the Volvo now haha!

I really like it (I'd prefer a black interior though). I'm not going to dislike it because it's not very old. It looks great, and that's enough for me!

All that needs to completely loose the barryness is the inside of the lights and bonnet lashing over with rattlecan satin black. It hasn't got fibreglass sh!te stuck all over it. And perhaps most importantly, it hasn't got a shopping list down the door. (I saw a K10 micra once with Alba and Happy Shopper on the shopping list )
