as if we didn't already have enough on the go, pick up a new project saturday afternoon. '84 Gmc s15 truck. currently running an old capri v6 lump, which actually runs sweet as a nut... may well go down the route of a 24v unless we find a cheap proper v8. its really soild and straight, little ding in the bottom of the tail gate and very tired paint. Got no headliner, so we'll make a solid one up and shape it, and a few window seals will need replacing. plan is to give it the once over and run it in for a ticket, then make a start on tidying the bodywork. Its already dropped, but might look into running airbags in the future. there are a few seems which have been smoothed and filled, so ill probably hack them out, weld and lead them, loose the handles and filler cap and do the same, just make it as smooth as we can. i'll polish up the rims its already wearing, I really like them, but lee wants big chrome rims. thinking of satin black with a metal flake in the laquer. should make an appearance after the winter..

well after a weekend at the nats, we just had to have a yank. A mate has had this laid up most of this year, just lost his job. We paid alittle over what we'd have liked, but he's a mate and needs the money at the moment, and we know its solid.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Think most were 4.3 v6s and 2.2 4 pots, but a v8 is a common swap in the states.

The Skoda pickup I was looking at buying has sold, but I learned a few lessons the last two weeks trying to find cheap insurance.
One was that people often do not "Get" Pickups.
Even the one little tosser who was quoting me on insurance, litteraly asked me 3 times why I would want a pickup, if he did not have sooo much of my details I would have gotten pretty rude and comented about Gerbils and KY jelly.
Yes, I love pickups, and have no idea why.

got it back saturday afternoon, gave it a damn good clean. must have been atleast 4 years grime on it!! now looks less pink! auto box is a bit wibblepoo, the linkage to the colum shift was a little suspect, sorted that but it still wont reverse on any more than tick over and not at all with more than a 1/4 of a turn of the wheel! gonna go for a manual box anyway by the looks of things. gave it a proper going over, got the lights all working, just need to stick a rear fog on. Front anti roll bar bushes are shot and theres alittle cracking in the front brake flexis. theres alittle play in one of the lower ball joints, hopefully we'll get away with just repacking it with grease. think the diff needs shimming too, there alittle in and out movement on both rear wheels. So, alittle hunting for parts, then no more tha a weekends work for a ticket by the looks of it. Then we can make a start on the fun stuff!!

turns out the movement in the wheels is ment to be there, but we're gonna change the diff oil anyway. Found these on the bay of E in the US..... ......so if our contact in BA can get them in the hold for us, we may well be ordering a set. Was gonna try photoshopping them on, but I'm curse word at it!

Yeah me too, Its no different trying to insure my little small car-van, got given BS from one competitor and many online quoters made you admit you were carrying for business Played it safe and called Flux. Still not cheap though

Wel its been a while now (fixing the still not so sensible daily driver 200sx) we've stripped the spare doors and fitted all the locking and window mechanisms, and have pretty much sealed the deal on a v8 with auto box from a caddy fleetwood limo.
I love american prices, full balljoint set $17 ;D $125 for a fibreglass bonnet with raised air intake........i could get so carried away
