Thought I would join up as the cars here are great. Hope mine is old school enough!!!! Mowzer pointed the site out to me and have been going through the pics of peoples cars and there are some great cars and some amazing projects. Mine is an import but still a classic in my eyes. I have been busy under the bonnet doing some work as the car is going on display at the NEC Classic car show in November. I wanted to turn a few heads and thought it may do the trick. Hope you like it!!!

Ooooh, nice engine bay! And I'm no fan of shiny motors!
Supra is a definite classic in this form. Not yet time for the later jelly mould ones though.

The UK 7MGTE engine can be problamtic with the head gasket but with resonable work can be made very reliable. Will be uploading the build up I have been doing recently.

Here goes, the story of the Supra so far...... Back in Jan 2006 I placed a bid from viewing two photo's, Here is the front pic. And this was the report I had translated... That was all I got to know about the car. After the car was bought at the auction in Japan I was sent some really poor photos. The car was not clean in those photo's so a little worry set in. The next time I would see the car was at collection in Southapton dock. It took almost 1 month to get it on a boat and was April 14th when I picked up the car. After buying new wheels while I was waiting for the car, I put them striaght on the minute I got home!!! I worked hard to get her ready for the Japfest show at Castle Combe. As I hard sorted the stand there was no way my car was not going to be there. But with being busy at work I asked my mother to do some running around for me and collected the registration froms from the DVLA in Bristol. So MOT'ed taxed insured and now with UK plates, it was on the road for the first time in the UK ;D ;D Disaster struck later that day I decieded to go for a drive after the show with Neil (mowzer). A slight miss fire occourred then all strange noises started. The car got towed home. When the RAC came out it was discovered that a coil pack had melted and a spark plug had exploded into the chamber!! I got the car home and replaced all the plugs got new coil packs and spent hours with magnets and blue tack on a stick to ensure no parts where in the chamber. I started it up and no bangs no rattles. I thought my luck had changed.......... So off down the road, boosted it up and it sounded ike a duck whistle. After more investigation work I took the turbos off. This what I found! Some of the exploded plug had go through the ceramic turbo blades. Lucky to find some recond turbos (I love E-Bay) Put her back together. All went well after that, replaced the leather gear gators and arm rest as they were in curse word condition. Cleaned the engine bay and gave her a real good clean and enjoyed the power!!! More bad luck struck when a taxi rear-ended me........ Stupid bloody woman This gave me a chance to have some little extras done to get it perfect (well Almost!!). After some time I decieded that it needed some extras!!! It already had the exhuast the air filter and strut brace and Tein springs. I have now added 440cc injectors 255 Walbro pump and a SAFC to be fitted. Will be going on the rollers soon and fingers crossed for 350bhp. Here are some photos in progress. At the body shop! The before photo.. And after.. Here is the car in action!!!!

Let me explain my silly comment... I've got a 1991 Yota too, but it's one from the other side of the range. But since it's mine and I'm a narrowminded fool it's my favourite brand and year. I'll get my coat.

The UK 7MGTE engine can be problamtic with the head gasket but with resonable work can be made very reliable. They just need better head bolts apparently and then they're very reliable.

The UK 7MGTE engine can be problamtic with the head gasket but with resonable work can be made very reliable. They just need better head bolts apparently and then they're very reliable. They suffer badly from blown head gasket. You can re-tourqe the head bolts, but best practise these days is a metal head gasket. By doing this you have to prep the head and deck the block. Never use water in them as it clogs the system very easily. Sometimes people use ARP head bolts too but not a major problem.
