Picked up this little gem today. The guy was a self confessed 100 nut with a 100 Coupe undergoing a full resto the old skool way, in his barn!! And the parts he had for early 100's (including many NOS parts!) was incredible!! Drover her all the way back from Norwich to Wolverhampton non stop and the old girl didn't miss a beat! And it really is as good as it looks in the pics! Get a bit fed up of looking at so called restored cars or original cars that have not needed any work done (cos they are supposedly solid), but this was just superb!! Gonna get a full detail next week as well to get rid of those swirls!!

The Escort belongs to the chap I bought it off. Ity's his daily hack. Totally immaculate! Inside his hideout is a 1965 Beetle which is nearly finished and a 1972 Audi Coupe! he sold the 100 GL so he could finish the Coupe off! Proper Old Skool fella! His work is top notch! Shame he only does it as a hobby!

Is he fitting a roof skin on that coupé? That is hardcore. yup, the old roof had a sunroof, so he had another coupe and is using the roof off that as a donor! If you look just above the area where the 2 sections meet on the rear C post, you can also see the small sections which he has fabricated to let in to conceal the join. This guy really is superb at his work!! No filler in the doors to hide car park dinks either as he just gently taps the metal from the inside to get it straight again!

That needs nothing, its perfect. I was going to say have a word with Audi and see if they want t o display it in a showroom but I don't think they`d dare, it would make everything else look curse word and boring.

brilliant car; i had one of those years ago, a bit tricky to work on them and chasing parts is a nightmare... i ended up selling it because there were NO brake discs available anymore. Audi had one left in the shelves, but as they designed a two brake disc setup at the front, this was no help ;D
