It has been very well looked after by its previous owner who very carefully restored it using many NOS panels and letting in new metal where the tin worm had gotten the better of the original metal! And to the average Joe, it probably looked a super car. It even won an award at a classic car show last year, but as soon as I picked her up, I knew I was gonna have fun detailing this one!! So, after a quick wash, she got the usual claybar treatment as the paint was fairly rough considering. One of the upper wing areas had a small area of reaction with the top coat when it had been resprayed but I'll cover that later on as I can't get out the office till tomorrow to collect the paint! The rest of it is pretty much superb albeit a huge amount of swirling, which can be seen in these pics! Out with the UDM, sonus pads and Menzerna PO85 RD3.02 and away we go! Did about 12-15 passes on 5, then down to a dozen passes on 3, then a quick buff off and voila! and again! Not rushing this one so more will follow over the next few days as well as the pics of the top of the wing!

Amazing car! Look forward to seeing the finished Coxy treatment on it. Only a few miles from my place too, and judging from the VG plate it should have started its life round here somewhere.
Oddly, it's the second red 100 that was living round here - there was a tidy rectangular light jobbie which I'd seen at Southwold and that was on eBay earlier this year in Attleborough.

Okay, I decided I couldn't wait till next week to finish off the top of the wing so did it today instead! The n/s front wing had some crazing all over it and was really theonly thing which let the paint down. I'll put it down to a reaction in the paint when it had the NOS wings put on her 3 years ago. This is what it was like, and it ran the length of the front wing I started to wetsand it but it seemed the only real way to get rid of the crazing was to respray the top of the wing as the crazing was still visible and it was the only thing letting the car down so I ordered some Iberia red paint from my local paint people in Wolves (Jawel) and then prepped the wing ready for paint. Popped on a few layers of paint then a few layers of clearcoat and left to harded for 4 days. I then wetsanded it back using 2000 wet and dry and then went over the wing with Menz IP 3.02 and voila! A perfect finish!! Just in time to bring her home for the weekend and take her for a drive!
