I take my hat off to anyone who creates cars like this. In a world where less is becoming more, its great to see someone go balls out on a car. whats the spec on the 505 engine wise? I remember us having one when i was young, but don't remember much about it. Was quite rapid i think.
Oh, and i wanna know more about this Metro!

Fu&k me, where's all the attitude come from?!!
I don't normally comment if i don't like a car, or perhaps would choose to make constructive criticism, but i think its out of order to make stupid, childish and silly comments on someone elses car.
"Tell me to my face at RR" WTF? Typical Stella drinking nob IMO. Hmm, speaking of beer, wasn't it one of these two making the comments who made an a$$ of himself at RR07 drunk? Must be a drift thing.....
Back to the Pug. Personally I don't like it as in my opinion its OTT, but who cares, its slaters car and he can do what the hell he likes with it. I'm more impressed with the work and skill that has gone into it than the final outcome, although i'll probably change my mind if i get to see it in the flesh!

I heart this car! Brilliant to see an idea thought through, started and then finished, all in the time it takes me to make a cup of tea.
If time and money were no object I guess Slater would have run to alloy arches and enough development to see the car handle (a bit anyway) As it is, it's a style statement, no more no less. Few people moan when a major car company produces a stunning concept car that drives like a turd, so I can't see why anyone would have problem with it's handling etc.
On the performance front I think a stripped lightened and breathed on 505 GTi would make an ACE drift weapon. Show those J boyz an old school trick or two. BUt not this car, that's not what it's for.

oh that right, its Slaters.
He built it, for his reasons and that is all that matters, he doesnt have to justify why to anyone else.
I kind of like the look, but no way would I build or own it as I wouldnt want a car that handles like I imagine that thing will, but thats my own choice too and again i don't have to justify it to anyone else, and I certainly don't have to put Slater down for what he has done.
I'm not a bum-licker, and I'm not going to give him a BJ if i ever meet him at a show, but i may well just congratulate him on sticking to his principles and doing it because he could.
Reading this thread as it developed, it is clear that this project has certainly not been a case of just sticking on some wheels and riviting on some home-brew arches. The car has had a lot of restorative welding work and from an engineering point, Slater has custom made a lot of neat stuff like adjustable suspension mounts etc. I admire his skills in those respects.
When i walk down the street, I sometimes see people who have truly rediculous haircuts. I have a look, i may even have a quiet snigger to myself behind their backs, but I never feel the need to point out my feelings to them, because i have no right to try to force my beliefs on anyone else.
Relax people, this isnt a good way for RR to start 2008.
