Looks like a matx pc that you are boshing to run on 12V? Would that be about right?
Did you consider a lilliput screen, they are not vastly expensive and touchscreens are ace!

I thought only mini-itx PCs could be run on 12v? Shows how little I know about computers ;D
So are you getting rid of the original PSU completely? also, could you not use the m2-atx PSU somehow?
Cheapness FTW!!

Yeah the Mini-ITX thing was my thinking inside the box too, what a top idea, still can't be assed to try it yet but massive credit due, specially as it means you won't need a LABtop trendy computer to access what the hi tech bits n bobs are telling you. genius

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

i have no idea how it all works ;D ;D, i don't even know what a 'mini ITX' either ;D i just seen that it has this wrote on it: and that i could (and did) buy something like this: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200154144082&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=010the voltage input of the charger is 12v, the output is 19v 3.5a, the input of the PC is 19v and 3.5a. if i solder it all together, add fuses and screens with a nice fancy package it shoudl work I'm on the lookout for a beatup (but working) touchscreen that i can cut up and mount in a nice and hidden dash install

its still windows, its just a front end within windows, theres a few geeky bits and bobs you can do to slim it down, make its startuptimes faster and boot directly into the front end without windows shell loading up.
you can use tomtom if you use a pocketPC emulator, but I'm using mappoint as it works with centrafuse well......GPS receiver was ike £6 off ebay ;D

And if so, you are just using a bluetooth USB dongle? Am now off to look at centrafuse - thanks for answering my questions Chief!

I have a CPC in my coupe, the only thing different I did was to use Laptop components as they draw less, plus a CPC powersupply which boots the PC when the car is running, and automatically switches it off 2 mins after the ignition is turned off.
They are nifty as the amount of stuff you are able to do is endless.
Keep us poseted fella, its all coming together now.

i was intending on building all sorts of electrickery so it kept power and shut down and booted with ignition etc. but, having it boot with ignition will mean i cant use it with ignition off, and i have no choice in it turning on if i don want it on etc. so I'm just going to have a permenent live to it, and use one of the spare buttons on my alarm keyfob and have a button on the dash that will boot/shutdown etc. i might build in a 30 minute timer incase i accidentally leave it on, but these are minor details. oh, if you want to play with centrafuse, i may or may not have a cracked version of version 1.1

If the on board graphics on your epc are up to it, you can just flip it 90deg and use it in portrait mode!
Looking forward to seeing this one!
