the method ive gone for:
1.8 zetec flywheel (lighter) 1.8 zetec pressure plate sierra clutch plate and release bearing (unsure as to which sierra, the one with the same size clutch plate as a 1.8 zetec) RS2000 bellhousing and release arm, although you can use the standard bellhousing, its just heavier and bigger. CVH sierra starter motor
there are a million different combinations though really, probably the best way is to get a retro ford zetec flywheel that is redrilled to accept a pinto clutch (£40 exchange) due to the zetec clutch being quite heavy on the foot.

When i've turned zetecs rear wheel drive i use early cable mondeo clutches and never found them heavey under foot and its same spline as type 9 so is a direct fit.

engines got to come back out again not to worry, will get the hoist tonight and have it out tomorow. i need to either file a bit off the thermostat housing or bend the bulkhead back (will probably do both) i thought i could do it in situ, but managed to take some paint off, so ill whip it out and do it properly. i got all the radiator hose sorted and the wiring in, which has all got to be taken out again ;D ;D inlet manifold got given to my pal to be tig welded, so should get that back soonish.

oh, its been finsihed a bit better than that last pic. anyway, the other thing ive been working on remember these? got them welded now they are starting to look like an inlet manifold......... bit too long though port spacing is cock on, the shape of them is a bit, erm. shouldnt be too much of a problem once ive give them a little porting if you squin it looks finished! just have to weld it to the flange and pu some injector bosses in there too. oh, bought myself an engine hoist last night (don't have to rely on pals ones) - managed to get my girlfriend helping a hand too

now, the boring stuff out the way, i can get onto these babies i mitre'd them (badly, with only an angle grinder) then after a bit of fine adjustment after some trial fitting, i decided i wanted them the other way around upside down the offending item

Could you give a few more details on your manifold design and the calculations you used etc, or was it a bit of guesswork?

with the engine awaiting an inlet manifold to be finished off before carrying on, i got the suspension on the one side on - it involved the use of a 12 foot long leverage bar (didnt have to use spring clamps this way!) then, today, i went the fabric shop and bought some italian closed weave hessian - apparently the nicest stuff around - £6 a metre the rover seat taken apart one of the 2 bits needed a ROUGH idea of what it will look like - i only placed the fabric on the foam, it will be properly stitched and shaped into exactly the same as the original, even with the recaro badge should have the seat done on sunday - will carry on with the car tomoro
