Hello, new member here just signed up today......and this is my ride ;D
1986 Opel Manta GT/E, bought in summer of 2003, i have always loved these cars since i was a kid so when the opportunity arose to buy one i jumped at it.
I ran it standard for a few years, but then i got into track days which prompted a lengthy project to transform the car into something a bit special.
Standard 2.0cih 112bhp.......slow
The sacrificial Cavalier GSi
It will go in.......it will.
Fits nicely
New engine 2.0 16v DOHC 160bhp.....Fast!
Interior stripped and harnesses fitted
Now ready to get on with doing what this car does best ;D
Spec:
2.0 16v XE
Ashley manifold - Jetex system
Calibra turbo clutch
Rear Bilsteins
Front Avo Adjustables
lowered and uprated springs
Quaife quickrack (2.5 turns)
Front brakes
Cavalier GSi calipers
carlton 2.2 vented disks
ebc Yellowstuff pads
Rear standard GT/E drums
Yokohama AO48r track tyres
this car is superb on the track, it's great fun surprising owners of more obvious track orientated cars as I've tried to keep the car looking as standard as possible.
Next job is to sort out the bodywork which is starting to look a bit shabby, definitely a work in progress.
