My daily. I thought I should start a thread for her. I can't imagine it to be a very interesting thread as very little is done to this bike. I've done over 1,500 miles since getting her in January. Just a daily hack. I can anticipate some touching up will be necessary in the summer as the rust is just starting in places. That said, she starts every time, and everything works. Highly reliable bike. Certainly a lot different to modern alternatives. No modifications as far as I'm aware apart from the over-sized top box. When I first got the bike: Today: Notice the difference in the exhaust down pipe between then and now? :worried face: This now reads 15,200...

Cool bike! I'm thinking of getting a bike license, I'd love something like that to zip around on.

Interesting choice! My dad used to have a CZ (far worse than the MZ) - blew plumes of 2-stroke smoke everywhere, bless it!
It's probably the ultimate form of cheap transport, nice one!
Cheers, M

this- is awesome, could've been taken anywhere in the last 20years. Good luck with it, and don't stress too muhc over the pipe, an afternoon of wire -brushing and VHT paint and you'll be fine.

thats awesome! top teenage transport! is this a new one? I'm sure it used to be red? is it a 50? thats what I was hoping, though, whats VHT? I was kinda going for that industry/eastern european effect with that pic... i have always assumed that VHT means very high tempurature as its exhaust paint.

Its a retro ride, its counts dunnit? Good work great pics too. how fast will it go? cruising at 55 on my old Honda was great. is a skoda on the road too?
|
|
it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Yeah, I used to have a Simson which can be seen here pre-mods: That was a 50. I changed it for this in January. This being a 125cc. 11.5bhp no less!

how fast will it go? is a skoda on the road too? flat out I saw 58mph coming back from the last RR meet. Its 21 years old, and is only 11.5bhp, so I was pleased with that. It'll do 50-55 willingly, but when cruising on A roads or whathave you I try to keep between 45-50 so not to be thrashing it. Its between 4.5k and 5k at that point...and given, it only really revs to 5.5k thats good enough. Yeah. Well, the Rapid is MOT'd, but not taxed yet. My sister is insured on it and my dad so it will be used by them in the imediate future. Also, I have my motorcyle test tomorrow...

I did pass..and quite honestly, it was one of the most horrible things ever! g'awd. in other news... my brother is doing his CBT currently and wants a 125 when he passes. so, we bought an MZ 125 the other day, but it needs more work than we thought, so thats now a spares bike. on Saturday we're picking up another 125 like this...but from 1978! We'll have a fleet of 3, I will try and get pics Also, took my girlfriend for a retro-bike spin today very cool
