So I recently aquired a 1985 Mk2 Passat GL5 Estate for the pricely sum of £200 (with tax and test!) To be fair, it did need a few things sorting, namely the tailgate replacing, as it had been hit by a high speed golf cart! We (a friend and I) were lucky enough to find a complete donor car for all of the other parts I needed though, and I managed to get a tailgate from the scrappy in Derby So far I've replaced the tailgate, the wing mirrors, the interior (with a clean one), and other bits of trim. I've still got to rplace the glovebox section of the dash, the rear electric window motors and a couple of other little bits...but I've got everything I need off the donor car. It currently stands me at £350 including a spares car It looked like this when I first got it... The plans were to drop it lots, on some custom springs, and to have it rolling on some 15 by 7 cookie cutters, however I hapened to stumble across some 15 by 9" Weller/Matig Steelies on ebay at a good price, so the plans changed! I'm currently awaiting delivery of the springs and shocks from germany, along with a few litres of satin 'light stone' military paint. The wheels will then be painted dark brown, and the whole car will be signwritten, advertising Slook (www.slook.co.uk), again in dark brown. Hopefully this (or at least some of it) will happen next week!

I'm actually not a fan of the wheels but nice motor at a nice price!
Why spend £200 EVERY month on a new car when you can pick up a tasty five pot motor for a one off payment?

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

 Cheers guys As for the rims... you can't please everyone, but as I said on a thread earlier...it's all about pleasing number 1 Oh, the side trim will be removed alright.... I think I'll be giving the fablon a miss though. Could do with rolling/flaring the arched. Anyone know anywhere in Leeds/Doncaster that can sort me out?

What about flaring them by hand (with a hammer ) and then modding and fitting some Scirocco or MK1/2 Golf arches over them, like someone on here has done with a Mazda? JDM-look Passat estate ;D P.S. If you ever get 'bored' of the 9inch girth, i'll swap you for the same but in a more subtle 7inch girth:
