Just gonna enjoy it for a few months, then start doing it up a bit Just looking at the photos now though, noticed that the rear door is a slightly different colour to the other one

It was probably nothing more than a dent that had to be sorted at some point in its past.

Red is a pig for fading as well. If the body is straight and the engine is sweet then don't worry too much!

Looks like a good base of a car, it also has the later "central electrics" wiring which is much better Buy youself some G3 polishing compound and you will lose a lot of that fade

Good choice ! Small bumpers are for winners. like the transplanter said, get some G3 and give a good rubbing down, it'll come up champion. What engine code is it BTW ?

depends if theres a contecter in ur current loom or not, i don't think its a big job anayway, just a case of wiring it.

Lovely!! I'm on the hunt for a Mk2 Golf Myself although in 8v GTI flavour. Quite fancy a five door. See PhilJ on here and clubpolo about suspension!

Get the clocks from a 90' spec golf (the car will have the hazard switch on top of the steering column), this will be much less of a pain to do You can buy G3 off ebay just as cheap as bodyshop suppliers (cheaper in some cases)

big bumpers, lower it, some 16v gti tail lights may help it abit, clean the inside of the headlights and drivers lights aswell. sounds stupid but they look alot better for it. all can be done on the cheap and makes a big difference!
