Hi all, my name's Mike and I heard about the site via my mate Topi amongst others.
I co-own a website called www.TrampDrift.com which is about drifting on the cheap, and it has quite a lot of fairly retro cars on it! Old volvos, sierras, capris, a couple of kadetts and some old BMWs etc.
My car can be seen... Hyar...
Spec was spax adjustables, rediculously stripped out, bucket seats, 3.5 engine, poly bushes, everything that I could do cheaply to make it go sideways better. Oh, a welded diff
I broke a couple of driveflanges on my previous gay long ratio diffs but now have a successful, and bloody quick 4.1 ratio on there, and the engine in it will now be a 3.0 after knackering the big ends on my last 3.5. I say "will now be" as the car is currently on it's side with nothing on it, as I wanted to sort it out better than it has been before.
I removed old engine, old leaky fuel tank, and new, yet fudged, rear dampers (molegrips on the piston isn't a good look!). Budget is EXTREEEMELY tight, but hopefully have it ready within the next couple of months.
I should be getting a racing fuel tank for cheap, polycarb windows, a DIY roll cage (don't make one off the shelf for the e28!), new rear dampers, and fitting of my new coilover type 2.25" springs front and rear to suit the dampers more than the ghey cut spax springs which aren't very stiff.
The car has been with me since 2005, got "finished" in July 2006 when she got her MOT, but was plagued with problems and hasn't truly been sorted yet.
I am also spraying it gloss black as apposed to satin black, as I now realise satin black ISN'T stealthy at night time for naughty antics, and also that I can get a good gloss finish myself rather than having to stick to satin/matt colours.
I absoloutely love this car, I am never selling it, and she is hopefully going to become very mental over the coming years. Something to the tune of a turbo'd m5 lump or similar is my ultimate aim, but in the mean time I will stick to £50 200bhp throwaway engines to give me my fix!
Hope to see you all at the retro-rides show, but in the mean time I am going to be competing in the pro class of the Eurodrift championships, with events being held across the UK.
Here's a couple more piccies.
Great site you have here
Cheers
