Looks good Seth. When i had my 16/60 on the road with MGB king pins on i did'nt have camber issues but that car was lowered also. One thing i do remember Alan had to make up tophat bushes to go in the steering arms as the A60 ball joints where smaller? but sine then ive tired A60 track rod ends in MGB arms and they fit? I spoke to Alan about it the other day but he carnt remeber what arms he used. One thing he did remember the bolts and tube he used came out of a xj jag irs.

Pid, I don't think you'd really see the 1 1/2 o camber even on a standard car but I wanted to measure it to end speculation/supposition. I don't think it would affect tyre wear either as mine had quite a bit of neg and never wore the tyres unevenly or quickly. It looked to me like the ball joint fitted the arms OK but I was only quickly offering things up as I'd run out of time. I'll take one of the old B ball joints down with me next week and measure sizes. The main problem is the B arm is higher up the stub axle than the Farina one so the drag link would no longer be parallel to the wishbone. I don't suppose you've got a pair of decent spring pans?  |

I've been spending some quality time with the car  I've taken all of the suspension right off now so I can take the various bits away and clean/paint/blast/whatever them at home. I expect it was the first time this crossmember has been removed since being fitted at Cowley.  Much wielding of the welder too. I think the progress I made today. (approx 10.30 through to 7 this evening) would have taken me about 2 months if the car were still at home.      Doesn't really look like much in the photos. Not done any grinding of the welds yet either but the visible joins will all dissappear. I've got another wing on the way so until I see how much of it I can use the remaining sections of the inner wing area and A post will wait. Fiddly bits of screen frame is next up. |

Cor, that had got quite bad! Yeah. I was wondering while I was doing that bit wether anyone has ever welded a Farina in the places I'm dealing with or if any such car has just headed to the oval instead. I've been feeling really positive having made this progress that the car will see the road again, maybe even next year, rather than at some distant undefined point in the future. |

Seth that is one of the many places they go, had to put bits in the top of the bulk head on both sides, in the estate.

Thanks Have to decide what next now. I'll probably do a couple of bulkhead holes and then move on to the section under the radiator while the crossmember is out of the way. |

I'm not going to get to teh dungeon this week but still atacking on a couple of fronts. Picked up a bag full of this yesterday.  Spent some time going through and tying up each coil with a label so they don't all get tangled. I'm partially colourblind too so easier to do this now than when I've got straggly wires everywhere. I've added ref numbers to the different colours too that relate to the spreadsheets and CAD diagrams I've done to help me with where they're all going to go. Anyhow, after a while I had a pile like this.  The front crossmember is also now all stripped down and mostly degreased. All came apart no problem.  Half of it has had the grinder/wire wheel treatment since I took that and its coming up great. I think I've decided to paint it with some of this. More soon. |
