Hi Guys, newby here This is my li'll Austin. I've always liked Minis, had 2- but couldn't sit in one propperly, SO....... this is my 2nd 1100. A '73 2 door, quite rare (apparantly ) but isn't that all the more reson to mod it? Just had it resprayed, in the same colour. Got a set of 1300 GT wheel trims and a set 165/70 12!s to go on at the weekend, a long with a GT grill, some Tex torpedo mirrors, a set of chrome body moldings that i've got to cut about and reweld them to fit my 2 dr. Oh..........and a Speedwell badge Insides a bit sparton! I've got a v.pretty Renault Alpine (mybe ) rev counter to go in poll pozzi, and want to get a set of Burgandy leather seats from a classic Saab 900- but I doupt i'll ever find some The engine is compleatly standard- for now ;D I've got a set of twin carbs, and a 3 into 1 manifold- and am desperatly looking for a 1275cc engine fom a Mini/Metro/Allegro/ etc, to fit in it's place. I can find loads in bits, but I want to fit it NOW. I'll post more picks when i've taken some

Welcome Bobz....that car is awesome!!
Dunno where you are mate, but there's some guy advertising a 'genuine 18k mile 1275 A+' out of a Metro in my local free-ads tonight. 01527 876546, he wants £150 for it though :-(
Welcome to the forum.

Excellent!
All the good bits of the Mini with the bonus of MORE space and LESS twittering imeciles who buy them for image alone.
Great work.
PS. My father maintains that the 1300GT he had was 'THE W1N'
PPS. 1275 Turbo please. It would be rude not to.

I'd really love an MG Turbo engine, but unless your REALLY lucky, you can't get'em cheap, or even resonabul. There's one on e-bay at the mo' relatively close to me, with 2 spare 'normal' blocks and bit 'n' pieces, and it's over £300! He doesn't even no if it's any good FFS! But if you've got a cheap one........PM me

K power is a want, but alot of work. I sent a rear ARB for one of these over to the USA for a Lad that is fitting an Integra Type R engine in his Austin America. To say that he's done alot of work is an understatment. He's had to fabricate his own subframe so that he could still keep his Hydrolastic suspension

Hiya Bobz. I was thinking of fitting a 620 Ti engine in my Countryman but it's being frowned upon due to it being a one owner low mileage car. Might tune the existing lump instead. I'm also thinking of spraying the curse word Trophy blue and fitting R8 SEI half leather front and back. If you are keeping it I cant see a problem with modding it.

Looks cool as is. Widened steels maybe. I always liked these cars but never owned one although a few mates have had them.

Nice motor. Would love an ADO16 (short-hand for 1100/1300) myself. I will get one at some point...

Hi Bobz, Welcome! How refreshing. I love the subtlety you have used with this, maintaining its original looks but not afraid to bu88er about with it too. No Star mags PLS I see what you mean about it being a big Mini, never quite noticed it before, but then never noticed a 2 door I don't think. So the Maxi is grand Mini Amazing work. a discreet turboid 1275 would be teh seks!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Maxi is more a big Allegro than a big Mini.

Maxi is a BIG Mini and the Landcrab an even bigger one. All Issigonis designed. The Allegro is the same sort of engineering design but Issy had no hand in it. Random fact of the day. The bloke who designed the front end of the Mini Clubman also designed the mkII Cortina.
