Right well I've finally been playing around with the old girl rather than just driving her. Front anti-roll bar is now polybushed, but much more importantly I've finally lowered her. So, BEFORE and AFTER Doesn't look like a huge change, until you see the whole car Its on the bumpstops now, and I only took out 2 coils....honest...and then took out another just to make sure.....woops. So now I need to play with bumpstops and mebbe buy some proper lowering springs (if I can find some that'll fit). So wots everybodies thoughts on the new stance?

Bang on, rake's always great on 60's Brit tin because it accentuates the fins IMO, I love that.

Just found this one! as can be. All for £300 too?! Personally I wouldn't go any lower, maybe a tad wider though? Just to fill out those arches? Damn fine either way - hat off to you!

The pinstriping is fantastic. Here comes the obligatory question! Did you buy one of those kits and Did you teach yourself? Brilliant home well the paint came up too, very nice car

There are kits?! No I did a design on a post-it note, bought 2 pots of touch up paint and a thin brush! It looks better from 10ft than up close, trust me! But its different and the roughness matches the rest of the car

Very nice, luv the pin striping on the bonnet, excellent job ;D
Many moons ago my partner used to navigate in historic rallies and the Super Minx was her first car she rallied in, she loved it.

Right then an explanation of where I've been for the past few months. For the last few weeks I've been in Sweden so that stops me getting of fixing the real cause problem.... So to the main matter, I wrote the poor old superminx off. Basically I rear ended an old woman who hit the brakes on a round-a-bout, apparently she was lost and in the confusion braked to 3mph on a 50mph motorway round-a-bout! But there we go, curse word happens and mebbe I should of been further away - in other words thats what made it 'my' fault, lol. So no photos (I couldn't bring myself to take any) but its really not that bad, just an economical write off. Needs a new bumper, bonnet, right hand wing (to be honest I was going to replace both of them anyway cos of the arches) a grill, slam panel repairs and front valance. But on to the important things, what modifications to do! So obviously I'll repair the damage plus new sills and a few other body repairs. Then paint wise it'll be the same colour (but done to a decent quality) with a gold flake roof?? same wheels, so over all the external look will be similar (might get some better pinstriping on there in gold too) One hidden mod I'd like to do is rear suicide doors, anyone know anything about this (other than buy a kit obviously?? My thinking is with a little trail and error I can just swap the hinges and locks round (with a few pilar mods) and then move the lock mech to match (sounds easy right?!) Any suggestions very welcome. But the big question is the running gear. Now I want to make her into a very usable daily cruiser so to this end the running gear thoughts involve something with 6 cylinders and good torque. I'm thinking BMW e36 325i or Granarda Cosworth running gear. Actually I'd probably use engine, box and mebbe axle (if I could still keep the wheels somehow - sierra rear hubs and somehow make the brakes fit. Then a load of the nice modern interior stuff. So sound deadening, electric windows, central locking and mebbe even the full heating/air con setup. Anyone round here ever tried fitting air con into something old? So what's everyone think of the plans? So that should then leave me with something nice, unique and very usable. Now I've just got to turn the dream of crusing up the motorway in the sun, chilled out with the air con on, into a reality......god I wish I was in the right country to get on with it! Mebbe I'll redress the balance and buy something out here

what a shame to hear about ur smach, glad your hanging on to it.
you plans are besically what i dream of eventually doing to a retro, keep the retro looks but modern running gear and mod cons. a bit of a brit super muscle car idea.
a gold or even green metal flake roof would be brilliant. I'm a big fan of suicide doors too so thats a winner
also.. what about make it a pillarless 3 door? move the C pillar towards the front and erase the B pillar, and weld up the rear door. i think that would look brilliant. shame i havent got time t photoshop it just now but i can do later if u wish
sorry for rambling on there haha
