Pillar less coup is a great idea, and there was a 2 door singer vogue in PPC sometime recently, and it looked great, however that was the one with a more curved roof so I'm not sure it would work quite as well on mine. Plus it'd be a hell of a lot of work! in the amount of time it would take to do properly l could restore something else, like the Jag XJ12 2 door coupe I've always wanted I mean if you want a cool pilarless coupe why not just buy one?! (I re-read that and it sound far far too grown up and sensible!) I will not go into my thoughts on peaky lights.........as I will probably upset someone (and I put my foot in it far too much as it is), needless to say but they ain't my favourite add-on, but curb feelers however thats another thing Hmmmm I wonder if it could extend the C-pilars back down and blend them into the fins....hmmmm I feel a shody photoshop coming on

NOOOOOOOOOO don't gold the roof!! Dom is filling your head with pimpness. Just respray it the same, i know we can't get the paint free from work any more, but i'll get some good guns and some filters for the compressor and it should give a good finesh, trying get a little refrigerant dryer at the moment. You have to keep the minx seats or if you don't can I have them for my living room.

Right then one dodgy played with photo! Before After So longer C-pilars, switched rear door handle and gold (said in the style of Gold Member). Is the gold too much? Think it'd be a little more toned down in real life.

Sorry to hear of the prang . I did a similar thing in my Benz a few years ago. I think it looks better all black, without flake, personally. And I think a BMW 2.5 six from an e30 / e34 would be a great swap! Cheap as chips for a complete car with dead bodywork. I had a 525i with manual box and it was fairly quick, even lugging that big 5-series body around. Get a 32v for even more punch!

Wow looking at it again it really doesn't look that bad, god I wish I was back in the UK to get on with it.
Strangely the Fiesta I hit only had a bump in the boot and cracked bumper (and probably a completely knackered boot floor!)

Andy, Having seen the damage in the flesh I reckon you should forget the gold and stick with classy black! The suicide door idea I like, the photoshop looks good from that respect. Also like the BMW straight six idea.

That's not too bad, I've taxed worse. Must be somewhere you can get secondhand bits from

How 'bout a small amount of flake on an otherwise black roof. Just enough to catch the light.

Colour good, leave it! remmber how many samples you mixed before picking that one. maybe go black between the chrome side strips. But if you did black possible put a blue flake in, mite be nice. I almost put a gold flake in with the red on the mini and I'm SOOOO glad i didn't. stick it on the ford running gear and engine. will be sweat. just don't put the 2.8 BMW striaght 6 in, the bores will warp or will have already.

i thought about playing with one of these with the flat rear screen (couldnt afford the curved screen one) I was thinking more about giving it a sort of fastback look though, sloping the roof back from the back of the front doors to almost the boot.... I got some pics somewhere ill see if i can dig them out

Ooooo yes please do dig pics out! ;D
I'm now thinking that since its a pearlesent colour anyway, if its applied properly it will look good, but I think a black metalic/flake stripe between the chrome side stripes would be a nice detail.
Also running gear wise I'v made a decision! BMW e36 325i - I can buy one for less, and in better nick than a Scorpio. Same power, smoother and a little better on the fuel - plus that straight 6 would look awsome under the bonnet and lets be honest a british saloon car should have a straight 6 (even if it is a german one!)

Saw Pet last night and he reckoned he could pull that out with his Body Dozer, but don't start unbolting stuff from it.... Take the lights and grill out but leave all the metalwork, as pulling the front panel out will pull the wings back into shape as well.... you can then replace the front panel if needs be once you`ve used it to pull out the other metalwork ;D so don't be tempted to start stripping it this weekend ;D

Sounds like a great idea! I'll see if I can find 20mins to pull all the lights/chrome off the front over the weekend. Though I've still got to get the wings off the repair whats underneith anyway....wonder if those arch repair panels are still around.......

Just don`t pull the wings off until you have had it pulled though, as a lot of the wing damage will come out with the pull from the dozer You need to speak to pete really and book it in with him as a "Hospital job" so he can do it when he has time..... Not till hes done mine though

Right well I've done a little bit in between painting the Escort. Stripped of the chrome and bonnet ready for pulling the dent out. Will probably get a new bonnet 1st so theres something to work to, but heres a pic of the current state of affairs Going to be a slow one this, but should get there eventually!
