I managed to get a good deal on some 3peice Revolution split rims a while back. So I split em, painted the centres and cleaned the rims. They work out to about 15x8 ET-12 (yes, minus).... which kinda sticks out of the car a bit hehe. Because of this, we needed to stretch some 195/50/15 tyres over, using hairspray and a lighter (video of us doing said method is available is wanted). The result.... Oh, and despite the Konis on full hard, and stretched tyres.... the car still hits tread , 195/45/50s next time.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I've seen that hairspray-based tyre fitting technique on telly. However I would love to see it getting done in a back garden by some tramp drifters. Bosh it up!

Cheers guys The stretch is really weak, I expected a bit more but ah well.... next time eh . As for catching on the arch... yep! Ha. I tried bashing the arch lip in with a hammer, but it needs more whacking treatment still. Spec on the car is: Sierra 2.0 GLX (oooh fancy) Twincam Carb. (standard engine apart from lack of air filter) Koni adjustable shocks, chopped lowering springs Front poly bushes Stainless link pipe Welded diff Drivers bucket and harness Sparco 2spoke deep dish steering wheel Spripped out Cheap drifting, with an endless supply of spares at local scrappies. Sorted. Oh and tyres for drifting. Although its obvious easier to get the backend out with skinny tyres at high psi, it's generally not good for drifting. Alot of people oversee the fact that you need to be able to control the speed and direction of the car while it's sideways, so you do still need a good level of grip. But of course, my car has 115bhp and isn't small, so I can't really go for optimum high-speed drift set-ups! Idealy I use 175/65/14 @ 45psi or 185/60/14 @ 50psi, but I tent to just use what ever I can get my hands on. Because of the rear camber, it doesn't reeeally make an awfull lot of difference.

haha LOVE the rims man surprised you havent had a thread up on here yet You need to get an arch roller on them arches man, or you could keep it tramp with the heat gun and baseball bat method LOL. This car is so rediculously low, especially when packed with all manner of spare rims, and a roof rack full too! One thing Ive been meaning to ask though dude, with the car that low now, the suspension geometry is obviously way off now, especially at the front (suspension arms reaching for the sky).... how do you find the handling/driftability? Thinking of going lower on mine, but it seems pretty good at the mo.

I do like a nice sierra. I've had four of the things in the past, 2 1.8s and 2 injected 2.0 ones. That twin-cam is a lovely torquey lump.
I "drifted" one of mine into a bollard set in concrete.
