Ive been nosing around and thought it about time I posted some pics of the love in my life. I've owned it for just over a year now and its cost me a frickin fortune, but hey thats what they are all about arnt they? There are a few mods but nothing beyond the usual. Just cosworth brakes all round lowered (more so on the rear), full custom stainless and smoked rear lights put on since the pics were taken plus more bits and bobs. The kit is planned to go back on some time soon! Hope you like! The gear knob was a bit of a laugh and has since been removed

Thats a most impressive knob you've got there, certainly a lot bigger than mine.

To be honest the dash is very nice (With no cracks) but yeah I love the way everything is angled at the driver I was driving me mums MG ZS the other day and everything was slightly aimed at the passenger Which IMHO Is wrong! It is like the car has been designed for the European market, and the U.K. was an after thought and just like most of the modern cars, very impersonal and driver unfriendly.

What was that about busses! LOL ;D Hi welcome, I personally like the fact you have removed the mouldings offf the side, what abouts blacking the bumpers too? is that on the list? Very nice. Dash is a nice early one with a black clock surround with retrotastic red trim and tape dispenser , I personally think they are a bit van like but love em. So what IS with that crazy big knob then?!

While on one of the other similar forums there was a discussion about retro / old skool gear knobs, Which soon turned into a "Show us your Knob" type thread I just happened to have a aluminum baseball bat lying around the shop and got to work cutting it up and shaping it to fit the thread and gaiter. I loved it, it looked really Ratty but it had to go due to the stupidly long throw between gears even though the Sarah is fitted with a quick shift linkage! I have since fitted a beautifully shinny red 6 speed knob of a old tractor or something that i found lying on the side of the street.

Well done for: 1. Keeping it on the road 2. Keeping away from 18yo boys of all ages and all their poor modifications. 3. Keeping it in such a condition.

Thanks for the comments people I have to admit that it is in quite good condition for being nearly 24 years old! As for modifications I should have gone into a little more detail at the start but Its had been bored to a 3.1 with the rest of the engine pretty much as standard apart from K&N filters etc. It has Cosworth roll bars and poly bush's, lowered a little to much on the rear (but I do like a little bit of scraping), Cosworth four pots on the front and disc conversion to the rear, full recaro trim cosworth steering wheel, custom build stainless exhaust from manifolds back, LSD and MONSTER camber on the rear that cant be seen on the pics. I have just got it back last night after the n/s head gasket going. So while it was in it had both heads skimmed new valves, seats and guides then a full new head set replacing all the gaskets and seals. Then this morning I fitted a new set of smoked rear lenses which with the back end being completely debaged looks so smooth. Next I want a pair of Bucket seats but will have to wait till after crimbo, Then I will get the arches cleaned up a little as there is a couple of bubbles starting to appear but after that ? Who knows, I m still undecided about refitting the kit but I do still have it all and one day it may go back on but not quite yet I don't think. While I'm on, what sort of meets go on around the northwest area?

Oh i didn't realise you were vaguely local! we had a meet in erm, *scratches head* somewhere outta Manchester! north? anyway make sure you make it to the next - pre xmas meet that Panda Matt and I will be arranging SOON, just waiting to see whens good for Matt. Sounds like you really have been busy, must admit lowering mine too much worries me, as i have seen too many inside worn tyres on wonky wheels i have bought. look forward to seeing it in the flest. Have a search here for MWF's car its the best XR4 with kit still on I have seen.
