OK might not be as retro as I would have liked, but 94 was a good year for Audi S6's ;D 2.2 20v Turbo (AAN) Same engine that is in the Sport Quattro...Should be putting out 230 BHP and it's a Quattro as well so it pulls like a train from a standing start... Got a few plans for her once I have got thetiming belt etc done... The brakes are something else, massive 4 pot calipers... To say I am chuffed is an understatement...

Good call - there's so much for your money on a car this age! Dare I ask how much?

Am I right in thinking that that shape S6 has conventional front brakes and it was only the S4 (same car but when it was an Audi 100) has the really stupid reverse front calipers and very expensive brake disc set up? Rare car anyway. I've worked on several of those when I was an Audi tech and they're very underated, I always liked them especialy the estate and those Avus alloys always look the part as well imo.

Good luck with the timing belt, I'm just getting my A8 done, £1100, a 9-hour job, the whole front of the car has to come off. Hope your lump is easier!

Rubbish it has never taken me anywhere near 9 hours to change a belt on any A8, I've always found the A8 V8 engines fairly straight forward. Is that a main dealer or specialist? seriously I would do it for a lot less than that and it would be a top job as well, all belts and tensioners as required etc P.M if you're interested.

Spoke to the Audi dealer and they wanted £900 to change the timing belt.... The Audi specialist round the corner from my house reckons £200 should do it. Reckon the front end has to come off but that's one of the reasons I cant be bothered doing it Stuyizz, yeah the brakes are silly expensive... I have one of the many Audi invoices at home and the front callipers had to be replaced. £500 each...and the discs were showing £120 the pair.... Hope nothing goes wrong with this one it could break me....

I had the belt on my '00 A6 done and a new waterpump and all ancilliaries done at an Audi Main dealer for less than £600!!!! They have to take the whole front off the car on the A6 too!
