Another great car there Kenton! Kenton means there are only about 20 of the 105 Lux's left, not Estelle's in general. Rear engined Skodas have become very rare however, mainly because most have been scrapped for relatively minor faults. When you consider that Kenton's car was less than £3k on the road in 1988 compared to about £5k for a basic Fiesta, and then take into consideration the fairly savage depreciation they suffered at the time, you can see why a 5 year old example needing a head gasket or clutch change would financially be a "write off", and hence a scrapper!!

Bout time you moved your power to the rear ! Give us a shout if you need anything.Lower is good,136 power with that box is better but i guess keeping it reasonably original is good. You could go the full conversion route and keep all the stuff so it can be returned to original if need be.........not a route Snotty can go though !

Havent seen one like that since I T- cutted one for someone for a tenner when I was 15. It started off that same beige but looked much browner when finished, the same might happen with yours. I can remember seeing a stack of F and G-reg Samaras, Favorits and Estelles in a scrapyard in 1993. Thats why they became rare people just threw them away well before their time. Depreciation must have levelled off as a lot of Favorits survive and they havent made them for 10 years.

I`ve actually done OK with Favorits up to now, they seem to have a bit of a following still outside retro circles and the like, not surprising really they are great little cars, good handling and a nice gearchange and they will run forever. Tough as well.

Don't give me ideas Steve, i'm planning on a few slight mods, but nothing to the extent of Snotty............................... not yet anyway.

Here's a pic of my Estelle meeting the Skoda rallying legend John Haugland's group N Skoda Fabia 1.4 at the scrutineering day at the Lombard Revival rally at Elvington Air Museum. And the man himself.
