A few of you will have seen my 1275GT from a while ago, I haven't been on here for a while. 1275GT Specs: 1330cc, fast road cam, MG cylinder head, HIF44 Carb. 5.5x12 Revolutions. Colour coded mirrors and arches, ( to match roof) Classic black vynil bucket seats with the rears stiched to match. Pics: As i bought it A few months later. The 16v project: It started out as a little project for me to learn how to weld on at the age of 14. It was going to be a very basic project with little mods so that I could insure it when i was 17 (I ended up buying anouther car to drive at this point... the GT above). As time progressed it became more involved and is now, finally nearly finished. The car runs etc there are just a few niggly things that need sorting for the MOT. Its running a g13b engine from a Suzuki Swift GTi. 1.3l, 16v, twincam which produces a touch over 100Bhp The suspension is all uprated, fuly adjustable, running rose joints and polyflex bushes. The only pic i have uploaded at the moment are engine shots. (Not sure you would like the styling anyway ) It is a VERY tight fit you can JUST get your fingers behind the inlet manifold and bulkhead and nearly in between the front of the engine between the grille

havent these been on before? if not there is an identical thread a good few pages back!
yellow one is sweeeeet! and the blue one looks like a good conversion, but if the engine is that tight will it not smack the bolk head under hard exceleration when the wheels are loaded up?

2 of the pics were on at the beginning of the year probably.
Clearence sems OK so far. The engine mounts are modifed ones from various cars which are much more solid. I have given the car a good run and it seems fine, the engine barely seems to move. If it is an issue I can take a little more out of the bulkhead as a last resort.

Well the Vaux Red top is a bigger motor and that ahs been done in countless conversions.
Lovin the Clubman defo on my wish list. Show us the body of your conversion no matter what some people will like it. Intresting conversion though, was it easy to modd the subframes?

Alright dude! I remember the GT from ages ago on specialist mini forum. I had one the same colour scheme, used to go by the name of dminifreak. Looks sweet mate, they always look best in Inca yellow with a black roof. 16v project looks sweet, 100bhp straight out of the box isn't bad, plenty of scope for tuning

suzuki conversions are drefinatly what id go for, you shouldnt have any trouble with the engine hitting the bulk head as it'l only rock forward not backwards. what size wheels are you running???

The only pic I have of the body at the moment is this . The subfame wasn't too difficult to modify. It was making all the other bits that took time like the driveshafts (which are home made), modifying the pedal box, re positioning the alternator etc. Here are a few pics of the subframe: The engine is very tuneable. I chose the suzuki engine as I could get it to fit without altering the length of the front. It is running 7x13 wheels with 175/50/13 bridgestone tyres. The engine conversion was a last minute desicion. It has been built on a very tight budget. Less than £500 which includes all the engine + parts to run it, materials for the subframe and buying a lathe to make the driveshafts.

Wow when I first saw the engine conversion I immediately thought that you were from NZ. Looks like an interestin conversion. Not a huge fan of the bodykit.
The clubman looks absolutely fantastic!

Both cars are stunning! Clubby is great. In my eyes they are best in yellow or orange.
