so much for me registering as bmcnut!lol ive been on the look out for something rwd for a while and a car has come up, through banger racing. Its a Mk2 granada 2.8 ghia 5spd manual. Its done 128000 miles but was restored a few years ago to standard original condition and it still in mint condition but has no mot, tho there is no reson for it not to pass. The engine had a rebuild 6oo miles ago with a hotter cam, but its not mad. The only problem is this will be my everyday car, abit heavy on fuel and a git to park at work. wadya'll recon? its under a grand too

what are they like on fuel? i imagine its gonna be a pig, but then it cant be much worse than my 2.0 mg maestro, and i guess the same goes for insurance? Its got the standard metric wheels (mint) and brand spanking new tyres, but my mates dads got an amg merc coupe sitting in his yard with 17 or 18in alloys on with nearly new tyres, i could borrow them and save the originals. Hmmmmmmmmmm, i like the sound of that!

It all depends how you drive them, IMO the 2.8 manual is no worse around town than a 2.3, boxes can be a bit weak tho, solex carbs tend to be cack, get a 38 weber jetted to suit. It's never going to be economical whichever way you look at it. But buy it.
