I am the new owner of AsconaDaz's hood TA12 1974 Toymota Carina! I had a look and knew I wanted it. I can't strictly afford it, and my kidneys will probably end up on ebay to fund it, but I couldn't miss out a chance like this. Needs a bit of work for an MOT, but I plan to leave the body as is. Please don't tell my missus. She'll lecture me for bloody hours. A bit of photochop to show the lowering potential. I also have a full set of lotus rims thanks to Rmad and Joncedric. This is one of the reasons why I had to have this car...me circa 1974...... ;D ;D ;D

Because it reminds you of your old hairstyle? ;D Retro to the core. I found another one, if I may. I'm not the the little girl on the right. Mum traded in her Imp for the Cherry, Dad replaced that ace Carina with the Sunny......I feel all nostalgic now.

Blame Rmad for this minor revolution, he discovered that the elite and eclat had the same PCD as many J cars. This stems from Lotus using BL bits, which in turn goes back to when the japanese made British cars under licence, but kept the wheel pcd.

Love the photoshop slam job. Those are some quality 'golfing trousers' too! :-)
I've found the owners booklet, the service booklet and some old MOT certificates for it, so I'll put them in the car for you.

Well done DC! As the 910 you bought a while back was stretching things a bit far I'm impressed that you've now got another vehicle.
About the Lotus wheel thing, there was a 240K advertised in the DOC mag many years ago which had been fitted with Elite wheels. Never seen anything yet on the Eclat ones however.
