8-)Hi here are a few pics of my Allegro which as you can see is a rather fetching turqouise colour, I would have preferred dog-poo brown but still, I got it a few months ago of E-bay for the huge sum of £100 It's pretty tidy at the moment as the previous keeper was doing it up but had too many projects on the go so he had to let it go,
It's got 35,000 miles on it from new with a wodge of every MOT certificate to back it up ;D
It's also got the leather interior from a Vanden Plas model in it with oh so cool picnic tables for when you get a little peckish in the back.
At the moment it has a standard 1275CC A+ Series motor but with only four speeds it goes ok, as you can see though the motor is hardly cramped in the bay so if time and money permit it's either a bigger engine (suggestions anyone?) or just dropping an already built hot A-series lump, preferably turbo for that dump-valve noise
So far the only thing I've done to it are fix all the niggling little things wrong with it, (the fag lighter is now operational!) fitted an old head unit I had lying around in the garage which looks fairly period, and spent a lot of time fixing it, it had a slight overheating problem when I got but a rad flush and new thermostat seems to have cured that. The battery also gave up the ghost two weeks after I got it but my brother works for G.S.F and sorted me out a cheap new one. The MOT expired last month and it's going to need new front tyres and hopefully that's about it.
I've also fitted this rather cool sports steering wheel complete with British Leyland centre cap!
Rear seats with off-side picnick table deployed ;D Also Haynes and factory workshop manual.
Rear shot
