The Spec as of 2011: Body : Sebring Arches grafted onto steel wings, Sebring front and rear valances. Clear front indicators with a chrome bumper grille. Shonky looking Russet Brown paint. Chassis: Spax dampers all round, 2 1/2" lowered 550lb front springs with 2.5" decambered and flipped rear lowering leaf springs. Superflex Poly bushes throughout. Rear ARB removed. 8Jx15 genuine Minilites with 225/50R15 tyres Engine: Ivor Searle stock 1800cc B Series with a Falcon Sports exhaust, electronic ignition, Weber 45 DCOE. Possibly an RV8 or K Series...Interior. Renewed carpets with new doorcards. Mota-Lita steering wheel with new supplementary gauges and Corbeau bucket seats. Red refers to possible future mods, some of the bits I may already have in my possession. I bought this MGB back in 2002, and learnt to drive in it, so it is my first car . I quite liked it. But in late 2002 I took it off the road, and decided to restore it. From trying to make it original, I then decided to make it a Sebring Replica when I saw one. Here are the pics: I hope you enjoy the pics. Chas

Hi mate, I notice that you have a similar motor lineup to me (2000 Focus 1.6 Zetec, 75 Midget 1500, and the MGB). Must have good taste . Cheers for the comments Currently it has the B Series engine in (an Ivor Searle Replacement with less than 10k). which is running very sweet. I have considered the V8, but I am having difficulty getting one for less than £400 (then ancilliaries on top would probably approach £1.5k), which is more than I'd like to spend on one considering the other options I have. I have considered using an MG Metro Turbo Charger, and a few of the Ancilliaries (maybe some from the Montego Turbo, and boosting it at maybe 4-5Psi, but I'm looking into other options currently (If Duratec HE engines come down in price, I would consider one of them). Are your MGs modded at all, or are they nice and standard? .

LOL very nice line up, Focus is now sold. As for the MG's naa far from standard, erm the posts are way back in this place. The midget I built up when I was 17 as a Sprint car, running a Peter Burgess 1500 motor, LSD part stripped interior and Cobra seats. Very fast motor, I took it off the raod about 3 years ago now as the GT was nearing completion. As for the GT it runs the B series motor, but with a high lift cam and rockers, Stage 2 Big bore head, MCOC performance Distributer with Optronic ignition, DCOE 45, vernier timing gears. Totally standard Transmission with the overdrive, Race poly bushes front to back with MGOC uprated dampers, uprated anti roll bar (forgot the size). As for the interior I wanted to have a bit more of a comfort factor so I installed full leather trim. I have forgot something LOL but it will come to me. I was thinking about the V8 route too, but I like the work space under the hood with the B series. Far too many standard MGB's around, some need modding. Thats the 2 newest pics I have of the GT. Keep up the good work matey and keep us posted, Plus Welcome to the best forum on the planet LOL. As for other considered motors, Anything goes quite like the idea of a Turbo MGB. Go for it matey

What amazes me is that you have the guts to take a tidy car and then pull it to pieces to rebuild!! Is there ever a point when you think "F*** how does this all go together?" Worse still do you get to a point where you believe that you will never get the car finished? I so admire you guys, ive never attempted a full rebuild/resto, only done partials, i don't think people realize that its no easy task to do. Good luck!

If you want to go the turbo route, the entire engine and turbo from an MG Maestro/Montego can go in a B with a bit of work. (You could pcik up a Monty Turbo for very very little, i'm thinking £150 if the shells curse word)These engines share a block with the later Rover engines (found in the 620 Turbo, which is also 16V). There's an article somewhere on the Mg owners club website where this has been done in a B roadster (i'll try to find it). Not sure how easy it is tho!

I think if you were going to do that you might as well just stick in a T series or turbo'd K anyway

The 620 has a T-Series engine (620Ti has 197bhp as standard), which i think has the same block (or at least a slight development) as the O-Series. O is 8 valve, T is 16. Try looking on www.austin-rover.co.uk, theres a run down of all BL/BMC engines and where they where used. Looks like some good work going on there too!

Since last time it has not made alot of progress, but here are the pics: . Due to unforseen circumstances regarding the sprayer , the car has come to a temporary halt it seems. But hopefully, I will get it sorted sooner rather than later

What are those clamps holding, some sort of inner arch?

You are right they are holding in an inner arch. Apart from being a way from stopping the curse word from getting inside the wings, it also is a good way to protect the fibreglass part of the wings which otherwise would soon become wrecked with stones (I found that the racers use Fibreglassed cardboard in theirs for this reason. I originally got the arch liners as my car was missing the splash plates (But that way, I could also check the sills , and someone said I could save my Lamp bowls and indicator units too this way, as well as most of the inner wing .

Yeah I remember reading about them a few years back in enjoying MG. they said about the headlamp bowls, but thinking about it how many bowls do you go through, I know myself its not many.
The are a good idea thats for sure and I can see why with the arch kit.
