... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Cool Always liked 02`s. As already asked does it need any welding underneath or is it pretty solid. Never had that much to do with modified BMW`s so just curious what can be adjusted on the rear beam

Cool Always liked 02`s. As already asked does it need any welding underneath or is it pretty solid. Never had that much to do with modified BMW`s so just curious what can be adjusted on the rear beam it needs a small amount of welding on the underside, mainly in the n/s front floorpan to bulk head area. rear beam can be made adjustable for toe and camber by welding eccentric trailing arm mount on. check out ireland engineerings site www.2002.com/, and I don't need jaymics or fritz bitz advice as I've been a bmw specialist for the last 9 years. I will restore the bodywork but it is staying brown. and it is a 74 just reg'd when imported from jersey in 76

chuck a coat of matt clear coat over it and leave it be ;D ;D ;D I'm with Mr Sigma on this one...... Its taken years to get that Patina....... once restored you`ll never get it back...... I would Mint it inside and under the bonnet/boot, sort the structural stuff out and the running gear, and then drive it as is ;D I think its so cool, not Rat ............just right

don't worry guys, it'll never be perfect with all the dented chrome trim. I love rat motors but could never own one, I'm just finnicky when it comes to rust, dents and paint. Besides, the ol' gal has only done 78k so I owe it some love (also the rain washed most of the chicken/rat 5h1t off ;D). Fixed the window regulator tonight and found all the welding places it needs (I think!!!), I cant stop fidgeting with it !

updates: worked up a major sweat doing loads to it last weekend. cut lots of floor/inner sill/rear spring plate (all of the above : out ready for welding. still more to cut, but I don't want it to fall in half ;D ;D took a run up to jaymic on monday as the weather was cr@p and my search for a manual pedal box was not happening. got a pedal box and clutch m/c, but not the actuating arm for the clutch master cylinder, so I spent tonight freeing the master cylinder off and measuring how much I need to lengthen an e36 one (3/4"). while at jaymics I splurged for some turbo arches, which will cover the rims (see pics, here they come) more fuel injection fitting. I have also liad the loom and fitted the front to back battery cable cos the air flow meter is where the battery should go. you can also see the remote servo in its new position some missing n/s floor pan. more is now missing more mig action needed. this is the o/s rear bulkhead to spring pan joint. n/s needs attention too on a happier note I fitted my rims and boy am I happy with them!!! I'm thinking gold centres

I second the gold centres. Might be trading my 83 GTi for a somewhat rotten 1602 with 2002 engine
