Hey all, I'm new to this site, thought it'd be rude not to join after all the gallery browsing ive been up to My name is Steve, I like my Dubs, and I'm part of a new site -- oldskooldubs.net -- Heres a few pics of my pride and joy - my first car, bought it for 700 quid a few years ago when it had 28k miles on it, used it for 10k since, and still love it to bits!! At VW Festival, Harewood, t'other weekend: On the old Ally Cat Cheetahs (not wide enough!!) Some less-than-impressive specs... 895cc, 4 speed. Very slow. Lowered a tiny bit, 13x8 performance minilites all round. Mars Red - not orange, not even close !! Hope you all like it Ste Btw, I also own a mk4 polo, that aint in the slightest bit retro

I love it! That's a serious bit of wheel kittage you've got there! 8" and still got the tyre in the arch! Whats the wheel/tyre specs? ET10 185/60? That stripe is the finishing touch! (not sure about your keyring though...a tad large perhaps?

Saw that post, ive been considering an engine conversion for a while now, G40 was high on the list but all the lumps are expensive and 'charger-less, and you have to cut a big section of the front panel out to fit the charger in!! The other idea is a 1400 16v from the later polos (mk4/5), 100 brake, nice and light, plenty of potential... rmad: yeh, they're Et10, with 185/55s, not entirely legal tho i reckon: Thanks for the comments!! Hi Steve - welcome along I really like the look of your car now with those minilight wheels fitted (8" wide ) They really change its overall appearance from when I saw it at GTi Interational 04' - when it looked all meak and innocent on its standard wheels & suspension ;D Sorry I haven't been posting on Oldskooldubs of late, i'm afraid I tend to only have time to keep up to date on one forum - I'm afraid its the variety of this one which keeps me interested

hi Stu, yeh - i knock about on those forums often. I also remember your mk1 was a little minter too!
Dan, don't worry about oldskooldubs, its dying a death at the mo anyway due to the founding members being very busy with other things! Innocent! lol... I think it was at inters '04 i caught the bug, a couple of weeks later it was lowered and sporting some diddy alloys, then it got silly ! and is gonna get much sillier soon!! Did you do the Undesirables at Inters this year? Didnt bother because of the 5 hour drive involved, and havent seen many decent pics since
