Hi all. I've just joined so thought i'd show you some photos of my ride. Apart from a bit of lowering.. ..i've replaced a few bits and bobs and added a Weber carb and lumenition ignition with a new Bosch distributor (eBay specials). Its now on 43K miles - I bought it with 36K on the clock from its first owner about a year ago. what ya think?

Cheers for the comments. Plates only been on a few weeks so not had any problems....yet Its lowered on H&R coilovers - to be honest I can't really lower it any more as one of the driveshafts is catching on the chassis leg I've got some nice retro alloys lined up for it, 14 inch, which i'll fit with low profile tyres which should bring it down a bit more - just need to get them refurbed. I'll post some pics when I return from Woerthersee in Austria next week, of the chrome roofrack i'm constructing for it - looks well cool .

Welcome to the Forum VWDan - I'm loving your Jetta, very clean, very low & very 'Dan' seems to be a popular name for owners of Retro VW saloons (well theres two of us) You'll have to tell us how you get on, on your Worthersee trip. P.S; I don't think you've got enough stickers on the back windows! ;D

Great. I think Mk1 Jettas really suit the Euro treatment, hard to find nowadays aswell. Is that a special grille? Enjoy Woerthersee you lucky man.

Must admit I'm not usualy one for Jettas or VWs of any sort but I really do love this ;D Pretty much everything about it rocks, great colour, rims, nice height, just screams euro class. Good work

Hi again. Thought i'd add some pics from the VW AllTypes show this past weekend. Got a lot of positive comments, which was nice. Roofrack also stayed intact, despite being loaded up with all the camping gear! Its not finished as needs some bits painting and the corner brackets polishing properly, but exams at the mo mean that it'll have to wait. And heres one with a friends Polo and Scirocco in the MK1 Retro display: Gonna change it now though - got German style plates to go on it, want to take the spots and fogs off the front, fit my clear indicators and lose a couple of stickers from the back window. I'll post more pics when more has happened.

And as it was before they changed the rears from 8 to 7 inch wide: Your car looks cool in the Mk1 line-up at All Types - I wish i'd gone along myself Are you part of the 'Northern Retro' group? I remember your cars at VW action last year & recognise the above rather lovely bronze Polo as OSV's from the Edition38 forum. That bronze colour looks great in the sun
