Oxymoron (n) ox-y-mo-ron (ŏk'sē-môr'ŏn', -mōr') pl. ox·y·mo·ra (-môr'ə, -mōr'ə) or ox·y·mo·rons A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a deafening silence and a cheap VW camper or Mini Cooper.
Good luck.

there is no such thing as a cheap vw camper, but can get a cheapish mini...it needn't be a cooper, they're all fantastic drive.
i sold a cooper a few weeks back for less than £800 in good nick, so they are about.

my mission is to find a cheap vw campervan and any mini for under £800 in good condition would be amazing! though it could take me quite a while to save up that much

have an ask on volkszone www.volkszone.com/VZi/index.php? and you will soon fond out that what you are after in a vw camper only exists in the past, sadly even a rotten pile of poo goes for £500+ an mot'd one will start at at least £2500.

If your OK doing a lot of work yourself, paying £500 is cool. If you can't do the work yourself though, you are best saving up that bit more and getting a better example.
Mini prices have started coming down recently though. Esp. clubmans. A month or two ago you could pick up a non T&T'd Clubman for £300ish with not much work needing.

don't get too hooked on the idea of a vw, you can get a transit camper, or a commer...there are alternatives to vw, and some are actually better.

From a going-places-quickly, or driving-comfort point of view, most campers are better than a VW! Really the only thing they have going for them is looks and the scene. I can't argue that a slammed splitty looks the business, and there's probably more like-minded folk out there than for any other single marque.
but there's far too many £6k late-70's bay windows in nasty colours on wheezy 1600cc engines for anyone to take prices seriously any more. For any other camper, you get a nicer camping experience, a nicer drive and a lot of cash left in your bank.

I have a very nice VW T25 Panel Van / Camper, 2 litre audi engine, 5 speed box, lowered, 18" merc rims, rock n roll bed, etc. £3250 inc. scene tax if thats within budget? Cheaper than a split or bay!

If an £800 mini wasn't in budget, I doubt a £3k camper will be!

NOT POSSIBLE. Seriously, you are living in la-la land if you think you will find either a save-able VW camper or genuine mini cooper for £200. I sold an utterly rotten boggo-spec mini 1000 for that last year. I have a Mini pick-up tucked away for a rainy day, christ only knows what that would fetch... it's never gonna be for sale 'cos it's a family heirloom, like. If you are serious, your best hop is probably grovelling on your local "freecycle"... but don't be too specific! Just say you want an old camper or mini and keep your fingers crossed for an old giffer who doesn't know what they have got.
