...boot?
What does your boot resuce kit consist of?
In the Mini I've got:
1. a range of sockets/spanners/screwdrivers
2. fuses
3. lengths of wire
4. ratchet strap
5. fuel can
6. fan belt
In the Golf:
1. jump leads (sometimes in the Mini)
2. 1.5 million candle power torch
3. dizzy cap and rotor arm
4. socket set and screwdrivers from the Mini
5. brake fluid and antifreeze (sometimes in the Mini)
6. ratchet strap
7. bulbs (sometimes in the Mini)
8. umbrella
and the usual jack, brace and spare in both.

Whatever tools I've been using on it. Grinder, air saw, welding mask + gloves, you get the idea. Not really a rescue kit, more a rust fighting kit ;D

In the Tank, aside from the obvious (ie spare wheel, jack, wheelbrace), I only bother with the following: 5 litre petrol can Jump leads Tow rope Spare bulbs (+ screw driver / multi-tool thingy, so can change them) Water Screenwash & antifreeze / coolant concentrates Oil can I don't have a garage, and living in London, my car is often parked at the far end of my street, so it's much easier to keep things like oil etc in the boot (hardly uses any, but I prefer to have some just in case). I'm far less trusting of the Sprite (it is BMC after all ), so I do tend to carry socket & spanner sets and a few other tools (which all fit in a very small rucksack) with me, in addition to the above.

My E30 has got dog hairs and I think a carton of sour milk.....
The datsuns both have enough kit and tools for a rebuild....
My 2002 touring is storage for Datsun wheels.....
My 106 Rallye is disappointingly sensible, with the essentials. I found a plastic toy monkey last month, but never discovered where it came from.

In the Merc I have... Water (5 ltrs) Oil (5 ltrs) Mercedes tool kit Mercedes warning triangle Spare wheel (which is now the wrong size...) A toolkit I threw together to take around A big waterproof jacket 2 Blankets Bogroll which has gone sort of damp An umbrella 2 Jacks of different types The old viscous fan I took off (incase the leccy one goes pop) Fuel can Random assortment of bolts, washers, car parts that never made it to the garage.... Pair of overalls Old pair of trainers Torch Endless polythene bags (why?) Fire extinguisher (not got round to fitting it yet... 3 years and counting...) Probably lots of junk like Ginsters wrappers, fag packets, drinks cans... All stored in one of those plastic bakery trays I swiped from the back of a supermarket. Lovely!
All this wibblepoo used to occupy a little corner of the Mercs boot. I put it all in the Donkey and filled it completely!

Us Imp owners keep our engines in the boot! ;D ;D ;D ;D Although in my Imp in various places including the boot like bit under the bonnet, and where they back seat used to be, are a tool kit, a jack, spare plugs, points, HT leads and condenser, spare bulbs, a torch, a jerry can of 4 star petrol, some additives/octane booster in case I have to fill up on unleaded, some water, both for drinking and for coolant, in the coolant's case ready mixed with antifreeze, and some jumpleads. No wheelbrace as of yet because it doesn't have a spare wheel either, but both will be going in whenever I get my hands on a couple of good 7x13 Wellers to go in as spares.
