Not seeking to provoke further silliness, just curious. If offered the keys to a retro Ford would you take the Sierra or the Granada?
Assume cars to be in equal good condition, choice of spec but obviously not a Cosworth, V8 or other "special" model.
I would have expected the Granada to win hands down, but I await the public vote!

Two different generations of car, from two different classes is an odd comparison, ok the models did run concurrently for a time but they were never competing in the same class.
I'd have the granny though.

the question was raised in another thread and ended up in an arguement. withoutt restatring the arguement I wanted to test the claims made as to which car was "More popular".

I voted Sierra,.. because a nice early 3 door could be so very very very cool. Sadly they usually end up as a Cosworth replica...

My first car was a 2litre mk1 granny with vinyl roof. What a car!
Also had a 2litre mk2 granny in white with vinyl roof.
My choice, mk1 granny

I voted granada, i've had lots of both cars over the years of both low and high spec, technically the sierra is a better car, but the granny wins hands down for what i'd rather be driving day to day.

Obviously I would have to go for a MKI Granada Coupe - only thing that ever got close to persuading me it was a viable alternative to [broken record]Monza[/broken record]

I exclude the "interesting" stuff because nobody would pick a Granada 2.0 over a Cosie RS500 or whatever, and although the "halo cars" are funky, they are not really representative are they, nor close in value. There were factory Granada V8s (although not in the UK market) which I have also excluded.

Granada every time for me,had a Mk1 Limo, Mk2 2.8i Manual(ex.Plod) and currently got the Mk2 Hearse of course. Plus had hordes of Mk3 as well.
Once had a Mk1 Sierra 2.3 Ghia, but it just didn't compare with the Grannies, Sorry to the sierra fans for that!

This is too hard to call for me. It's not a direct comparison so you can't really weigh up one agaist another that way, and if it's about looks alone I suppose I'd go for a mk1 Granny. But then Sierras are very cool too. And Mk2 Granadas... Nope. Can't decide! All of them please.
