I believe he sold the plans to a Texan oil billionaire for £324m. The plans involved instructions of how to hack the middle out of your grandad's Metro. Engine and running gear schematics and specifications were sold separately and are apparently a state secret.
On the back of his Bullit car project, he was approached by the US Military's DARPA to work on their top secret weapons development. I believe his first task was to chop the middle out of an F-16 and weld it back together, thus allowing twice as many planes to be carried on an aircraft carrier.

I imagine he ended up lowering his asking price from £150,000 to £100, and eventually getting £60 for it at the weighbridge (if he brought the middle section in too).

I seem to recall it was not driving whan I read about it, he had towed it round everywhere, and it had no clutch cover, which A5's pics seem to confirm.

Jesus H, that is unbelievable! Repeat offender! I really can't understand how he believes this will reduce anything other than his own bank balance. I mean, what does he think commercial vehicles such as busses and lorrys are going to do? Be narrowed the same? I think i'm going to email him and ask him for the middle he's cut out of this car, then weld some axles to it and surpass his own goal with an even narrower car, see how he likes that. |

Look at the clip, looks like it does drive! Not entirely sure... It's all downhill, and at the very end it pans to the missing clutch cover  although that seems to be a separate bit of video, so I'm confused. It does have the look of something rolling rather than driving though |

it drives - but originally he couldnt fit an engine - and look at the angle of those drive shafts
i don't have any pics of the overall view of the car - as i had to take the pics secretly as the owner had covered the car with a sheet - and left instructions that no one could take photos
he thinks he owns the design - but no patent pending - what a muppet
the vid shows it driving, but id like to see it take a chicane at 30 mph - or an emergency stop at 50 mph - the thing looks top heavy and just downright dangerous
