Well, I missed a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe about 15 years ago, and also walked away the year before from a 1948 Chev Fleetline Coupe. There are loads of cars I would love have, from all types of origin, but I guess if it were to be a single car, then the '40 Ford Coupe still rings my bell. Could look like this: Or like this..... Look at what www.ruttersrodshop.com have to offer. Or even this if you are a masochist 1948 Chev Fleetline coupe I let go was about £300 at the time, running, really rustfree and original paint. I did not think I had space, a year later I had a 7 car garage... but the car had moved on. 4 door IIRC was Fleetmaster. Like the patina? 1948 Country Club Coupe. Can you spell Potential ?

I've always liked the fat 40s, good choice there. For me the answer has always been this... It would have to be a modified one though, some Americans on it, and the underpinnings from a '67 Stingray. When I first started looking they were early teens... Now it's three or more times that. Oh well... However, no word of a lie. What's always run a close second place is the '57 Chevy Suburban I bought in California. As vans, trucks etc far outweigh any other style of vehicle I favour. Plus it had to be a 57, a Chevrolet and either a panel van or Carryall Surburban. *I'm a lucky man*

Yep..... earliest 'Vettes are gorgeous.
Met a guy years ago who had an original one tucked up in a garage in SA, he also had a Fiat 500 with 2 Kawazaki Ninja 900cc motors driving the rear through synched sequential boxes.

I hear where you're coming from with the '40 thing Grizz. This one has always stuck in my mind since I first say it in an early 90's R&C Apparently this is a clone of the original. Also this, is one of my favourite UK built cars of the last couple of years. I know its not a '40 but it almost is.

too tricky to say, too much good stuff out there. I want something pre-war, Bugsy Malone type ride, something rounded and sleek fromt he 40s, a finned up monster from the extravangent 50s, 60s luxury, 60s muscle, 60s econocompact, 70s barge... its all good and it all has potential

in spite of the fact it won't fit on my screen, i really dig this. hope the owner runs it more than just the 3 wheel nuts shown in the pic tho I want something boxy. dodge daytona or 1980 mustang turbo. 1980's LTD wagon with merkur tubo engine in I also have a love of ford f-1's and seth. I think i have a rather nice b&w pic of the 40 sedan you posted in a '40 special feature in a mid 90's street rodder somewhere. might be rod and custom tho.. its buried my huuuuge mag pile, that much I know

Originally it would have been a Charger due to its appearance in the Dukes of Hazzard when I was about ten. However, that and the Shelby Mustang for people who love American cars but have no imagination (no offense to users of this site who own one or have been able to identify every car on the road since they were 5). A late 60s 'Vette is one of my dream cars (along with a Mk1 Escort) but only has 2 seats so is sod all use for my domestic situation. This also rules out an El Camino and a Ranchero so I guess I'd go with a 70s Trans Am.

This could do as well. I love pickups and vans a whole lot too. Go look at www.theironalley.com some nice project base stuff. Or interesting American use of the Transit name.

If it was any American I'd go for Leanne Rimes in that video for 'Can't stop the Moonlight' when she's dancing on the bar. But as we're talking cars My son and I liked this very much:
