Hey Folks! Another week, another weekly chat, your place for stuff that may not warrant a full thread or stuff that is just going on right now that you want to share. Last week when I did this I'd recently put the newer club stuff live, well a little over a week later and we've got a whole host of new members having joined, driven I suspect by the early ticket access for Weekender. The system seems to work and I'm really looking forward to where we can go with it in the future. The eagle eyed of you may have noticed there are no adverts currently running on the forum, it looks like the source of the slow down issues, which isn't a surprise to me, but is disappointing. I've got a length post in the works about the forum, adverts, club, content and all that stuff, with a second forum specific changes/updates one to get writing too. Keep your eyes peeled and prepare a cup of tea and a sit down Weekender tickets went on sale this morning, went off like a rocket, we sailed past our expected number of tickets we'd sell today by 9am, we're fast approaching the number of tickets we hoped to have sold by the end of January at this point! It gives us a really sold bedrock to work from to deliver the best show we can. In some ways you could be lazy and say "well we've sold these tickets so we can take the foot off the gas and cruise through to a show"... I'm the opposite though, I think people have put this much faith in us to put on a good show, we'll have to repay that faith and more. Luckily I already know what about 80% of the show is going to be like, and it is going to be amazing So what have you been up to? I've been preparing my daily driver for the MOT test which is now booked for Thursday, but as I've done everything I can for that I actually got some small things done on the project car.

Been cracking on getting the unit up to spec. Luckily we've managed to get a very long lease so I can do things a lot more permanently than if it was a 1 or 2 year deal. Been scanning Facebook marketplace for bargains and managed to pick up a pallet truck cheap, some old good dexion shelving for cheap etc etc. All the stuff to make the place a useable space for working on cars and storage for 5 people's collection of curse word. It's starting to take shape now, hopefully can get onto actually welding up curse word old cars again soon.

It's been an interesting time for sure.
Last weekend involved catching up with friends on the Friday, doing quite the external clean of the SL, and then revelling in the roof working once more. Happy days.
I then decided to go to Thor's Cave. A first for me, and most likely not the last time to go hiking/walking either
Work has actually began to become more manageable, and I am making progress on cars once more, which is good.
I then went to watch a band on Thursday at the NIA, before going to a friend's birthday last Friday.
Saturday had me stripping down the front of the SL, as I need to rectify the nearside headlight not working.
I did plan to finish this off on Sundau, but I pulled my back, which wasn't my finest move frankly. As much as I want to get stuck in, it's not wise to, so I'm taking it easy for a few days before I give the bumper another go.

Bought a weekender camping ticket, changed a bald tyre on the logo from 2004. Only replaced with a landsail budget tyre as this car struggles to do 95mph downhill. Was thinking about selling the civic but i'm going to crack on and get her sorted this winter, likley going to cancel the tax now I have somewhere to store her for the winter at a family members place. (my landlord is a nightmare with storing cars) So hopefully ready for weekender if not the logo will be coming. I've also been looking through what car parts I have at home so I can get some sold to generate some cash to fix the civic. (Mostly Polo 6R bits and yes they will fit a 6n )

Wired up a detailing booth on Friday, Pulled into it because it saved walking, wired up, switched on and unexpected cool photo of the van We also had a seat fitting in the Fugitive, it is having fixed Kirkey seats, and the blue book states ‘Side bar must be included on driver’s side. The sidebar must pass the driver at a point midway between shoulder and elbow’ So a trip to Cheltenham to have a sit in it and mark the position of the bar was needed

Nothing particularly positive on my side this week, feeling the weight of passing 7 months in hospital today. 7 months. That's madness, struggling to comprehend the impact it will have long term but it is going to be a long road.
Still I'm alive and, whilst physically limited, I am not cognitively limited which is good, darent make plans yet for next year as who knows what or where things will be at. Weekender video looked cool though, shame I missed it but it was around the time my health was plummeting so wouldn't have enjoyed it.
Hopefully some good news soon...

My younger daughter passed her driving test today and is now the proud holder of a class 1 restricted licence. For those not familiar with the NZ licencing system that covers private cars, light commercials up to 4500kg, and agricultural tractors up to 18,000kg GLW or 25,000kg GCW.

Has there been a forum issue? I haven't been able to get on for over a week, just a frozen front page.

I've been in touch with our ad provider and apparently there was a big in some cookie/localstorage stuff that they fixed. It has however put the fear of god in me, as we're beholden to them for it not to happen again. There is a lengthy thread in the works (still) about it all and other stuff. Maybe tonight is the night I finish it!

I have finally made it to rehab in Orpington Hospital, a much smaller, quieter, calmer environment. Was transferred this morning and it went smoothly which was a blessing in itself, so now I have a rehab/physio focussed programme and an end in sight to getting home. Yay!

My long suffering daily smoker passed another MOT, and was treated to front disks and pads as a reward, plus some glowplugs for the winter. Not too shabby for 193k! If it's really lucky it will get a cam belt and front tyres soon too!

Clutch slave cylinder failed dramatically today. Got lucky and found a replacement on eBay, it's not usually an easy part to get. I'll get a seal kit for the one on the car so I can rebuild it and have it as a spare. Then I got to see the doctor and found out I probably have ME, aka chronic fatigue syndrome. It could be fibromyalgia too but since I don't experience pain it's unlikely. Referred to neurology to hopefully find out. Feels closer to a diagnosis, and even though that doesn't really change my life in a practical sense, it might give me some breathing room when it comes to career options.

I found the nasty fuel leak on the civic, this was the return line, the feed is not as bad but still leaking. (Going to replace with hose for ease of replacement in the future) Return line is now fixed with some spare brake line and compression fittings my dad had. First time ever tacking a job like this and i'm pretty proud of myself. Hopefully on my next day off it will be fixed and I can take her for a spin. Far from ready for show season she desperatly needs anti roll bar links as the ball joints have no rubber left on them. (No clue how they passed mot but they where advised)
