Hey Folks! Another week, another weekly chat, your place for stuff that may not warrant a full thread or stuff that is just going on right now that you want to share. I finally did it, I finally got the new club membership all live and up and running. You can find it here : ko-fi.com/retrorides ... could still do with a bit more spit and polish, but I'm very happy with it, £1 a month for GLi membership and £2 for GTi. You can also drop in a little bit at a whim, maybe you got a good answer to a question on this here forum, or sold a car, or just want to show some support without joining Club RR. Although if you drop in over £12 you'll become a GLi member by default (and same with £24 for GTi). Feels like a good step forward. Will make a proper thread about this and integrate the Ko-Fi widget in to the forum. Other than that I'm back trying to be a bit fitter, which means more time in the garage on a treadmill, staring at the piles of stuff deciding which is going in the bin, and which will get organised. Got a little system now, every time I go in the garage for anything I move at least one thing to a more correct place, which includes the pile by the door which is going to charity shops or the recycling center. I can actually see the floor again! Car wise nothing much going on, Porsche needs a clean as it is living under a tree that is shedding leaves. Datsun is due for some work this month I believe. Trying to work out money so that this time next year the Datsun is done and I'm working out the next project. What ya'll up to? I handed my notice in at work a couple of weeks ago, and feel very good for doing so. I have been working for my current employers for 15 years, but recent management changes was the third restructure that we've had, staff were being squeezed, and I have had enough of doing time-critical mistake-free work every day in front of a screen. I need a chance of scenery otherwise I could do myself a mischief as I am not as young as I once was. Stress is a nasty thing.
I am lucky enough to have a bit of money behind me (not a huge amount, but enough to get by for a few months), so it's my plan to re-evaluate what I want to do and also to simply take a break from the rat race and recharge the batteries. I shall also do some more Midas-ing in the meantime now my friend has assisted me with the wiring.

Will endeavour to sort my membership when I get back to a laptop or similar normality........won't be for a while yet still I suspect 😑
Nothing changes for me except I have my own side room rather than a shared room due to an infection I am carrying but is dormant. This turned out to be a blessing as it meant I missed the drama of the sad passing of one of my room mates a day or so later. This is the grim reality of being in hospital, checks date, nearly 7 months 😱
Weather has definitely got cooler, wetter and darker, it's going to be very odd when I do get out to have missed spring and summer and probably autumn 😂
In more positive things my physio is going well and doing more and more walking without a Zimmer frame, which means my core strength is returning slowly. Makes me sound like an elderly person but that's how it feels after 7 months in bed and after brain surgery!
This week I remembered another of the YouTube channels I follow (I can't remember my password or access my emails.....) so have been catching up on AutoShenanigans. Superb stuff although I'm almost back up to date with all my YouTube things I think (I had 2 years to catch up on 3dBotmaker which greatly filled many a day 😂)
Looking forward to the day the news from me is really positive and I have moved to rehab or even back home!

Came down to Kent in my civic to see some friends, last time this year before the weather gets too cold and the roads salty. (Winter never does my mental health good) Managed to make the journey from the midlands on just under half a tank of fuel too.
Have a sunset pic.

Summoned the energy to do *something* on the car. Found a dirt cheap unbroken grille for the Princess, and repainted the headlight trims. Almost did me in just doing a job that used to be a quick lunch time fettle for me. I'm chuffed that I managed to do it all the same, I couldn't have a couple of months ago physically or mentally.

Ended up buying a Honda Logo today for £500 with 3 months mot. Going to be a daily as my civic needs some work as it constantly now decides. (Fuel lines started to leak) Needing to get to work and living out in the sticks mean I need a car that works all the time. Feat my brother washing my civic for me before we put the cover on.

b18lou I saw a Honda Logo on the M5 on Saturday. Not sure I've seen one on the road over here before, figure they are pretty rare?

Very very few where imported (rumor has it a single boat load not sure on numbers), I only knew they existed when a friend bought one back in 2022.
