So, I'm trying to put together a mega budget air ride setup for my modernish daily (08 9n3 Polo).
I have bags and struts, now I'm looking at Compressors and I'm potentially looking at using a BMW X5 OEM Compressor. Mainly because they're easy to get a hold of and cheap.
However, will it be enough? Will it be mega slow? This is all new to me.
Cheers
Tom

For comfort or doing tricks? If you're going for ride comfort only and not going high and low all the time you'll need less tank volume and less compressor ability. Essentially you will only be using the compressor to top up slight leakage over time and not refilling an empty tank too often. I suspect this is the purpose of the BMW item. If you can get the spec of the BMW item, compare it to a purpose-made equivalent and see what that is being recommended for. Eg. airride.co.uk/air/product-category/compressors/What is the BMW compressor equivalent of and does that description match what you need? You might have a bit more faff getting the BMW to connect to the other bits but any good hydraulics place should be able to make adaptors for you.
