Looking good! I have attempted window tints once, yours have come out 1000x better.
I must agree that a 40 or 45 profile tyre on those rims would look & work better when lowered.
Just checked my stash of things for car's I no longer own & I have a single brand new crystal side repeater from the caddy I had in 2010 lol

For what it’s worth, I always thought the crystal style repeaters looked a bit off somehow, but couldn’t really put into words what it was that made me think that way. The silver ones on the first van just seem to blend in a lot better.

Keep at it - you might get as good/quick as this guy... Watched him before, in amazement. He is in a different world though, rolls of tint, years of practice. you can't keep us guessing like that do you like it ? for what it is worth , I do It is less BOOOOMMM and more Yes, I like it Maybe I should have ordered gloss vinyl. The satin is not quite right. But it is staying. I saw this beauty at VWNW Tatton Park in August, the attention to detail was just amazing sadly is wasn't for sale Attention to detail is godly. Great work! I thought in its original form it looked a bit odd; you've worked wonders on it. I'm now trying to decide if clear indicators and side repeaters would look better still...! I was already onto that. Still need to justify the £40.00 to myself. And the hassle of making it all fit. Looks much better with the pillars blacked out. Cat herder….. cool name. Thank you, If I had more of the vinyl, I would do the rear between the doors as well. That would look neat in a Carpark. Adds zero value, but looks nice.

The silver ones on the first van just seem to blend in a lot better. I have always removed the Lexus style rear lights (on the Not a Project Blazer and on my recent S10 truck) and replaced with standard OEM items. Clear indicators on the Astro and this, just tends to simplify the colour palette and remove that bit of yellow/orange in an ocean of monochrome or two tone colours.

Yes, tinting, even on flat glass, to the unfinished can be a pain. Once you add in vertical curves, cold weather and impatience…… Disaster street. But I love to see a job completed and would have hated binning the tint after all the trying, so I keep at it. My vision for the Caddy would also be somewhat impaired. I drove the caddy with those taller tyres and it felt fine at all points in the 5 miles I did. I do not like the harshness of the lower profile tyres and wheel combos, (thanks Mercedes Benz) A quote here from Zelandeth over on the AS board has me in agreement, despite not actually finding the ride hard or harsh at all when I fetched the car. Looking good, Grizz. The black on the door pillar makes it look a lot more cohesive as a design I think.
I'd always pondered switching to clear indicators, just never came across a set that were cheap enough while I was actually thinking about it. I can't remember for certain whether the broken bit of clip on the offside one is on the headlight or the indicator itself...I *think* the latter.
I'd (personally) not be wanting to switch to any lower profile tyres without also making tweaks to the suspension given how firm the ride already is - which was probably the only thing about the vehicle itself that I really wasn't a fan of.I think I will use it today for my shopping and GP surgery runs……. Get a better feel for its NVH

The tints and the vinyl have transformed the car massively already! Really like the vinyl on the front doors too. Thats something I never would of thought about but it certainly has made a difference.
Keep up the good work!

Thats something I never would of thought about but it certainly has made a difference. Keep up the good work! Thanks mate. In 1987 I bought a brand new Toyota Corolla Conquest 1600RS The RS moniker gave a few neat touches like chrome mini hubcaps, some stripes and RED. Seatbelts which to me was way out of my comfort zone and a slightly differently tuned 1600cc engine, maybe carbs etc, cannot remember. I bought a powder blue one and one of the differences on them was a section of satin black, textured vinyl on the C-Pillars. It made a massive difference to just the look of it, drawing the eye to the glass line and making it appear a bit more sleek. I gave it up three years later in a divorce settlement…… was a great car. Pics below show what two different colours look like, mine was blue, but not with alloys.

Liking the progress with the Caddy.
I've always liked the orange indicators. On my Cordoba estates and Passat, I fitted an extra set of sidelights in the front indicators to give it the USDM look. Always looked great IMO.

Great work on the caddy 👍 For me and me alone 🙂 the Astro definitely needs ‘clear’ indicators … the caddy, hhhmm, well, errm , not sure , definitely change the side repeaters, the front corners, the orange ‘breaks’ up the expanse of silver and goes well with the black grille…but that’s my opinion only 🙂

Always looked great IMO. Some cars suit one style more than the other and of course personal preference comes into it as well. Right now, I am holding back as my spend is already headed the wrong way for a cheap runaround.

Hardly driven it, so polishing a proverbial turd, like the MX5 I did years ago for Nicola, cost me around £2700 and sold form£1200 Not too clever

Looking good Grizz. Always fancied a mk2 caddy! Definitely a bit less "pope mobile" now Thank you very much. It will always be a weird looking thing, relative to other small vans and cars. But quirky is cool too. I just like to show a bit more of its potential, like some of my cars.

I'm with you on the weird looking thing as I have a lesser known version of a window van a Toyota Yaris Verso the funny thing is that I was actually looking for a VW Caddy at the time I bought this way back in 2010 / 2011. the Caddy in comparison was dearer to buy and exactly double the insurance so I bought this "ugly duckling" as it was in much better condition, one known owner and only 20K miles

carrying th black around the C pillar into the rear window like the verso above could work on the caddy too.

I cannot see the Caddy delivering on that add on around the rear, the glass is on different levels. BUT……. I was playing with this idea….. And of course this makes a lot of sense, should I be stupid enough to attempt tinting the two rear windows with their respective curves. It certainly needs it to be tinted as it is wide open to stealing eyes.
