got this last week after seeing it advertised on market place managed to knock 250 quid of the asking price as well It's had some bits of welding which are not the best worst being the boot floor It has a broken windscreen it's been rubbed down and partially painted . The carpets look like they been taken out and I have some sort of under lay stuff. a fetching shade of chocolate brown interior which is actually pretty mint it does run it's a 2.3 auto non sunroof with five owners and 70k miles ...to me as I can't keep anything standard it's crying out to be a thunder saloon/ touring car type build in terms of looks and obviously upgrade any parts possible Only pics I have at the moment with fine weather tomorrow hoping I can get some better ones and start by pulling out the seats ect to have a good look at things

Or turbo the 6!
Where abouts are you based? If you don't want the 6 and you're not too far away I might be interested...

Ime in South Wales mate how much work was involved in turboing it This is the kind of thing in my mind for it A little far from me, but if it runs I'm sure someone will have it if you don't want it. There's not many people doing development work on the SD1 6s so it'd be a bit of an odyssey. At minimum I'd say an EFI conversion as I don't think the stock manifolds were terribly well balanced. Stock cam is pretty mild though which is useful for a turbo setup, and compression isn't too high. V8 is tried and tested if a custom EFI setup puts you off.

Took the interior out to assess. Floor condition and a bit of surface rust but not bad

Bookmarked, I'm in.
I've always loved the SD1 as it was by far the best car my mum had when I was growing up. Hers was the 2.6 and the most comfortable rear seats I'd sat in as a child.
